2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
Calling It A Masterpiece Just Isn't Enough
I am annoyed with the fact that I have yet a 1000 words to describe "2001: A Space Odyssey". This movie, no, this magical, intoxicating, question- raising, masterful, majestic, infinite, biblical, intense, epic and simply perfect movie is without a doubt a bright, shining jewel in cinema's finest crown. Words fail me as I try to describe it. Just watch it, and you'll feel as if you understand the true meaning of a movie and all the great philosophical questions we have. After watching it, you will understand what you have been missing out in life. Thank you Stanley Kubrick, thank you.

The Dark Knight (2008)
Undescribable Perfection
Let's open this review with the fact that Batman is THE BEST superhero ever, with no other even coming close to his levels. So when a sequel is made for an unforgettable movie like "Batman Begins" expectations are EXTREMELY high. I think that if you could describe this movie in a few words it would be "152 minutes of pure awesomeness." Christopher Nolan probably created the best ever comic book adaptation of a movie. The movie itself has been adapted in a much more realistic fashion than the comic book series. First of all this movie is PERFECT for people who like punches, drama, shooting and explosions. The movie has a complicated plot that keeps your eyes glued to the screen. It's anything BUT corny, since a few important characters die, and the ending isn't happy, but it's flawless. Christian Bale has proved himself one again as an amazing actor. Michael Cane (portrays Alfred Pennyworth) makes you fall in love with Batman's loyal butler. Now anyone that has seen the movie and is reading this review is probably wondering why I haven't mentioned the main reason why this movie is flawless. And yes, there is ONE main reason: Heath Ledger. Heath Ledger portrayed Batman's arch nemesis in this movie: the Joker. Now anyone who has a clue in comic books knows that the Joker is INCREDIBLE. Heath Ledger's acting in this movie has turned the Joker into a LEGEND. I have never seen such perfect and realistic acting than the portrayal of the Joker in this movie. The Joker is portrayed in a much more mature fashion than the comic books, and that's why it was so good. It's simply impossible to describe him: he's bold, insane, smart, twisted and he's so awesome in this film that at some points you love him even more than Batman. If I haven't mentioned it by now, this is without a doubt the best movie I have seen. Those who come with high expectations after seeing "Batman Begins" will not be disappointed. I advise that no one under the age of 11 watches this movie as Two-Face's appearance is rather frightening and the film contains intense action.
Shake It Up (2010)
A Shame For Disney Channel
Over the least few years it started to seem that Disney Cannel's quality has slowly declined. This awful show seems to prove this as true. With senseless comedy, unfaithful and horrendous acting, a boring plot and no clear age of audience, this is probably one of the worst shows Disney has broad casted. "Shake It Up" portrays two 13 year old girls (who actually look like they are 16 at least) in their senseless adventures with the dance show they star in: "Shake It Up Chicago". The two girls hold the retarded names of Cici and Rocky. They are portrayed by Bella Thorne and Zendaya, both unsuccessful and thunderously unprofessional actors. The only character that can occasionally make you grin is Flynn, Cici's younger brother. Disney's reputation is being pulverized again and again by programs such as this.
The Hunger Games (2012)
"The Hunger Games" Review
"The Hunger Games" is without a doubt one of the most anticipated movies of 2012. A remake of a successful trilogy, I saw this movie yesterday. I came in with notably high expectations, since I had already read the books, which are of very high quality. The opening is very good, giving you a feeling that you are familiar with the characters. The preparations for the "Hunger Games" are portrayed in an exceptionally long fashion, but they are intriguing and fascinating. The main part of the movie, the "Hunger Games", portrays the love story of two 16 year- olds form the same poor District 12. The "Hunger Games" themselves will be depicted by the average viewer as nothing more than onslaught between teens. However if the viewer looks beyond the horrific killing between the participants he/she will see a marvelous and outstanding story of love, sacrifice, survival, caring, kindness and action. The "Hunger Games" themselves are magnificent and your eyes will be "glued to the screen". Not only is the movie simply very good, it criticizes today's civilization in a way that makes you re-think many things. Even though the movie is almost 2.5 hours long it is so interesting that you feel as if it is only 1 hour long. When you exit the movie theater you will only think you saw a very good movie, but after a few hours (when it sinks in to you) you start to realize all the messages and criticizements that the film has for today's population. As I have mentioned before the movie contains never-ending killing between 12-18 year old teens, and a few "jump" scenes. Thus, I must advise that children under the age of 14 should not be allowed to view this film.
This Means War (2012)
Review of "This Means War"
I saw this film with two of my friends. I advise not bringing any drinks with you into the movie theater, because you will probably not be able to hold your urine in from laughter. With outrageous and non-stop comedy, this incredible movie will be noted without a doubt as one of 2012's best comedies. The movie is also action packed, and has a very interesting and surprising end. So if you want to enjoy some mind-blowing comedy with a touch of romance and Hollywood action, this movie is the perfect choice. The movie has a PG-13 rating, so make sure you are aware of it. The action scenes are very light for a PG-13 movie. However, the jokes are sex- related and there are 2 intense sensuality scenes. Children above the age of 11 should be allowed to view this movie, with parental consideration.
SpongeBob SquarePants (1999)
"Spongebob Squarepants" Review
Spongebob Squarepants; it's probably the most well-known Nickelodeon show to have ever broad-casted. For 13 years this show has been non-stop entertainment for children worldwide. When Spongebob was first broad-casted it was hilarious, unexpected. Everything occurred from either the viewer's point of view or from Spongebob's point of view. Spongebob was not very clever, and the occurring were realistic. Adults and children enjoyed this always-surprising show for hours. All this existed until the beginning of season 6. From then the show slowly started to descend in terms of quality and fine entertainment. Spongebob was no longer a good-hearted, unintelligent being that was beloved by his surrounders. He became nothing but a senseless idiot. The show started to occur around Squidward's point of view, and Spongebob was mostly seen as a noinsence. The plot became unrealistic, strange and at the least boring. As great as this program is, 13 years seem to have been more than enough.
Die Welle (2008)
Review of "The Wave"/ "Die Welle"
I saw this movie as part of my History class (we were learning about dictatorship). Without a doubt I have to say that this is one of the greatest movies I have seen in my life. It has convincing acting, discusses important issues and teaches about historical events. Although some of the happenings in this movie are unrealistic it is still marvelous. All my opinions of this movie are positive except for one. In the ending a character that you become emotionally attached to during the movie (without you realizing it until he dies) shoots a friend and moments later kills himself. This ending was very unrealistic and without exaggeration: heartbreaking. The sadistic twist at the end can be difficult for certain viewers, so please be aware of the PG-13 rating of this movie. Although this negative downside I must highly recommend this movie to all viewers above the age of 13.
