Beau Is Afraid (2023)

WTF dud I just watch

I have this 5 stars as I just don't know WTF I just saw. It's a bit like your first time skydiving, just do much to take in on your first jump, but not like skydiving I don't think incoild handle sitting down for another 3hrs if this movie.

It's chaotic, it's all over the place, it's demented. I think this one is really for the left of field and film students to study. It was not my cup of tea, it had its moments and I did laugh, mainly because of the absurdity of it all. If this is what it's like living with severe anxiety then stuff that! Those poor people!

I think I need to take a Bex and lie down with complete silence to get over it! 😂.

Anyway this is one of those movies you'll either love it or hate it.

Lockwood & Co. (2023)

Very impressive.

Just been watching a few episodes of Lockwood and I'm impressed. The 3 main actors are very impressive, the you chap who plays Lockwood IMO channels a bit of David Tennet DrWho.

Even though this has young actors in it,in no way is it aimed at the young generation, I'm over 50 and I'm enjoying every episode.

Special effects are top notch, and scary at times the main story line is a great arc, but I'm not saying anything about it. You'll just have to sit down and enjoy it.

Netflix has its hits and misses but this is the later and I certainly hope to see more seasons of Lockwood and Co. In the future.

FUBAR (2023– )

I really don't know how this was aimed at but it was a big miss for me, and I'm an Arnie fan I've loved all of his movies. Hey, Arnie is Arnie and I was expecting something better than this. Like I said I don't know what age bracket this was aimed at but with all the swearing I'd say Adults, but if so why was it made like it was aimed at children?

I expected something with a bit more grit coming from the people who made this and what they have done in the past.

This is no Tulsa with Sly, where he had presence in every scene he had. Arnie on the other hand was just sad and maybe should hang acting up.

Bank of Dave (2023)

Good feel movie.

What a surprise feel good movie. Saw this tonight at a preview screening but it doesn't change my view of the movie. Had no idea about Dave and his bank, but what a great concept and should be more of it.

One thing about the Brits, they sure can tell a good yarn. The movie moves along at a good pace and nothing feels like it's to long a movie.

Even the love interest of the movie isn't over done and is sweet. Yes it does have its protagonist aka the "big banks" and they live up to what they do best.

If you want to go see a good feel movie and just get away for the world for a while and come out feeling a bit better, then go see Dave.

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi (2022)

Dave feloni does it again!

This is awesome and gives you a great story from the past. Done in the same manor as Star Wars The Clone Wars. If this is the way Star Wars is now heading under Dave Feloni, I feel it's in great hands and I therefore can't wait for another full length movie.

To see where and why some of the Jedi came from and why they were the way the were is intriguing indeed. The six episodes of this short series will want you demanding more, I loved every episode of it.

Did the stories needed to be told No! But I'm thankful that they were.

Honestly do yourself a favour sit down and enjoy those short stories of the past Jedi.

Black Adam (2022)

Good comic book movie.

I wanted to get in and watch this before all the critics winged about about.

I've been waiting for this movie a long time, and it didn't disappoint. The start was a bit weird as it was narrated by some kid that I don't know didn't sound right and knew he was reading from a script and not telling a story, you'll know what I mean you you go see it.

It was funny to see him just walk through walls for no reason i mean he didn't do it when he was mortal.

Anyway the CGI was good the story was pretty good and the ending was good. As usual it has extras during the credits so hand around but I've you've been living under a rock you should know what it is, but it was still good to see it still.

Just go see it.

Andor (2022– )

Looks like another bore fest of a show done by Disney. Just finished watching the first episodes and nothing really grabs you to keep watching.

Yeah the scenes are great but nothing really happens, to much jumping around you have no idea what's really happening. They destroyed what could have been a great show with Boba Fett and now this bore fest. Disney destroyed Obi Wan Kenobi and made him weak and inferior. Now we get a story of a insignificant one off member in a stand-alone movie. I've given it 4 stars but I'm hoping it picks up a bit more than the first 3 but I have little hope of it coming from Disney.

1883 (2021–2022)

Wow how good and brutal is this.

A prequel to Yellowstone the series with Keven Costner, but you don't need to know about. This 1st season of hopefully many is a gem the acting was superb! The show holds no bounds it's brutal, beautiful, and sad so very sad.

I won't go into what happens because you seriously should watch this.

This is simply outstanding and such a simple story of people going from one spot to another, but my god it's was brutal.

Do yourself a favour and make sure you watch this.

Father Stu (2022)

This one specifically made for the religious mob.

Didn't find this entertaining much. Had to turn the subtitles on this one, the mumbling is incredible. This right for redemption thing has been done before and far better.

The acting is good but the jumps in timeline seem to be years but going by the movie it's days. For instance Stu has a massive motor bike accident get flung down the road 50mtrs and gets run over mid drift by a massive SUVon both wheels not wearing a helmet. In the movie his character is up and walking to what seems like days, but it would take years to recover from an accident like that.

If your a religious person, I guess this is movie is directed at you. It seems to be made on a true story but it's hard to believe.

Metal Lords (2022)

Netflix meta high school movie!

Wow, was surprised by this, great acting, the music was awesome loved all that metal. The guest appearances by metal legends were great.

Listen, if you love metal and you like a decent movie sit down and chill out with the kids and enjoy.

The Guardians of Justice (Will Save You!) (2022– )

What the hell was this.

I'm trying to figure this out, pis this sci-fi, graphic comic book, slapstick 70s Batman style but rated R a comedy?

It's a take on MR invincible but part live, part comic, they should have just stuck With the comic. The chipping back and forth between real life and comic is really annoying.

The poor acting doesn't help or is it part of the whole play on things. I made it into the 2nd episode and it's just not enjoyable, I don't like any of the characters or is that part of the whole thing. Listen the 80's were crap keep away from them.

It's too much copying but nothing really enjoyable.

Firebite (2021–2022)

It's not bad!

I'm into the 2ep and I'm enjoying a different take on the vampire culture. Filmed in Coober Pedy it's a stark, dusty place for this outback First Nation people tale. It's a good tongue in cheek story of vampires a bit like Znation, so I think if you liked that you should enjoy this.

Peacemaker (2022– )

This is SICK! Love it!

John Cena is awesome, everything from the opening dance to the back chat and the weird stuff that peacemaker comes out with is just hilarious. The goes up with the ranks of The Boys, DeadPool & Invincible as my favourite comics series/movies.

Evil (2019–2024)

Simply Awesome!

This is my favourite show on tv at the moment. The 2nd season has so many wtf moments it's not funny. Plus talk about nightmarishly scenes in nearly every episode, this leaves most horror movies for dead, no pun intended. If you like horror and a really great show you got to check this out. My only gripe was the way season 2 ended. Simply can't wait for season 3.

Midnight Mass (2021)

This show isn't scary or well paced, what it does show it the blind faith people put in religion to get what they want and to make others do things against there moral compass.

It's a vampire thing, maybe these people have never heard of vamps before, who knows?

There was only one part in the series in episode 5 where you went WTF! But that's is.

Not bad but certainly not good either. Go watch Squid Game.

Evil (2019–2024)

Fans of horror should love this, the way the horror is portrayed in this is well done. I'm into episode 5 and I can't wait for more. Some of the episodes are disturbing indeed.the guy with the glasses is creepy as!! That's all I will say about the show.

Who the hell green lit this rubbish should be kicked around for months. Mamoa from Aquaman to Blindman, what was he thinking?

The acting is way over the top, the premise is ridiculous, turned it off 1/2 way through the 2nd ep how did I make it that far I don't know.

Give this a WIDE BERTH and go read a book.

The Front Runner (2018)

Boring as hell

Why was this movie made? You can go to Wikipedia and read about Gary Hart and get all of the goss in 5 min, Instead you have to sit through this boring garbage that has no point. With Hugh Jackman and a great line up of supporting actors one would think it would be a good film to watch, Nope! So far it has only take just over 2mill, with only approx 225000 tickets sold at the box office, so i think that speaks for itself.
