Tiger Cruise (2004)
Best Disney movie so far
Tiger Cruise teaches you about what sort of things went on around the time of September 11, 2001. Also at the same time, teaches you about the importance of family. The audience enters the story through the eyes of a young girl, who's father is a Navy captain. All she wants is to have a normal family, and living in one place. She goes on board a tiger cruise, hoping to convince her dad to come back home, and while on board the ship, she discovers something about her, and her father that she never knew. The cast for this film is a fairly new one, but also including some familiar names like, Bill Pullman, (While you where Sleeping, Lake Placid) and Hayden Panettiere.(Remember the Titans) New cast includes: Bianca Collins, Nathaniel Lee Jr., and Jansen Panettiere.
The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004)
Great Family movie
Review: In the first Princess Diaries, at age 16, Mia Thermopolis learns that she is heir to the throne of a small, but happy country, Genovia, after her father dies.
In the Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, Mia turns 21, and is preparing to take over her grandmothers position as queen of Genovia. When she arrives, she is surprised to find out that unless she gets married with in the next 30 days, she is not fit to be queen. The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement is a great film for your whole family to enjoy. Returning from the first film is: Anne Hathaway, Julie Andrews, Hector Elizondo, Heather Matarazzo, and Kathleen Marshall. The new cast also includes: John-Rhys Davies,(The Lord of the Rings) Raven,(Disney's Thats so Raven) and Chris Pine.
The Village (2004)
The best thriller of the year
"M. Night Shyamalan's The Village" is so far the best thriller I've seen this year. The story is based around a small village, of just families and close friends, who arrived there, and shortly after settling in realized that they weren't alone. Still, they go on living as if there is nothing strange or unusual going on beyond the borders of their small village. The rules of the village are not to cross the borders into the woods, let the bad color, red, not be seen, and when the warning bell rings, run for cover.
After a while, the people of the village get warning visits from the creatures, leaving red slash marks on their doors. Is the truce finally ending? This movie stars: Joaquin Phoenix,(Signs, The Gladiator)Adrien Brody,(The Pianist) William Hurt,(Tuck Everlasting) Sigourney Weaver,(Holes, Alien) and new comer Bryce Dallas Howard.
Van Helsing (2004)
Not as bad as they say it is
This movie isn't as bad as the critics and everybody says. I'de give it 3 stars out of 5. The special effects make the movie almost seem real, and the actors they got for it were amazing. The story takes place in the late 1800's, following the story of Van Helsing, the famous demon killer. To some he's a hero, and to others, he's a murderer. Anna Valerious, whose a part of a family that for years has attempted to kill the famous vampire, Count Dracula, but in the process, end up getting themselves killed.
The cast of this movie includes: Hugh Jackman,(X-men) Kate Beckinsale, (Pearl Harbor) David Wenham, (The Lord of the Rings) and Richard Roxburgh (Mission Impossible 2, Moulin Rouge)
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003)
Best Movie of the year
This movie took me by surprise. By the commercials for it, it seems like the movie would just be battle after battle. But Peter Weir is too good a director for that. The movie is based upon the best historical fiction books ever written, by author Patrick O' Brien. The cast was amazing. This is Russell Crowe's best performance since the Gladiator. Also has performances from Russell Crowe's, "A Beautiful Mind" costar Paul Bettany, "The Lord of the Rings" star Billy Boyd, British actor James D'Arcy, and new, but talented young actors. It teaches you a lot about what happened in the 19th century, between the British and the French. I recommend this movie to anyone interested in historical fiction movies.
Angel (1999)
The spin-off series from Buffy the Vampire Slayer
For over 200 years, the vampire, Angel/Angelus, has been cursed with a conscience. Before this show started, Angel had a fling with the notorious vampire slayer, Buffy Summers. While also having trouble with the fact that being in a relationship with a human being can be trouble-some. At the end of season 3 of Buffy, director/screen writer Joss Whedon(Toy Story) moved the chaos of the Angel world to the streets of LA. Also from the Buffy universe, Angel meets up with Buffy's friend, Cordelia, and new friend Doyle. Together, the three of them start a program, where they can help people who are in need of a demon hunter. After season 2 of Angel, Doyle passes on, leaving Cordelia with some unnatural. And joining the chaos of Angel was the Buffy's ex-watcher Wesley Wyndom-Pryce, Charles Gunn, Winifred Burckle, and the green, but good demon, Lorne, who together improve saving lives program.
In season 4, Angel is joined by his son, Connor, who causes more chaos than needed in the group. The Angel world went well into it's 5th season, also joined by Buffy's new soul having vampire lover, Spike, who also is Angels arch enemy.
The cast of this chaotic spin- off is: David Boreanaz, Charisma Carpenter, Alexis Denisof, J. August Richards, Amy Acker, Vincent Cartheiser, Andy Hallet, and James Marsters.
