Just Another Lame Christmas Movie
8 December 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Corny and predictable. The only thing on my TV on a Saturday afternoon. 12 wishes per person per lifetime..no refunds or exceptions. She stupidly wastes all her wishes on unnecessary and selfish things then (big surprise) karma comes back and bites her in the ass and she finds herself completely alone and miserable. It's just another story of a typical ditz with a jackass boyfriend, more ditsy friends, a scary boss, and a crappy apartment (which she lives in for the entire duration of the movie AFTER winning the lottery, a new car, and, not to mention, she is granted her three wishes. Just don't watch this movie..TRUST ME..you already know exactly what it's about and exactly what's going happen. There are much better Christmas movies out there. Why do they waste money and time making these cheesy holiday/chick flicks?? lame..two thumbs down

The Majestic (2001)

Cheesy lines, horrible acting, ridiculous plot
23 November 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I remember seeing this movie with my parents as a child, I didn't remember too much about it other than that it was about a man who lost his memory and that my parents didn't particularly care for it. When it came on TV the other night my boyfriend and I decided to watch it. It started out as a seemingly legit story of a rich and successful couple living in 1950s Hollywood. However, the plot quickly twisted and absolute ridiculousness ensued.

After an intense car crash on a bridge and being knocked out by a cement block, Jim Carey ended up being washed onto a beach near a small town (how he was drowned in the raging the river he fell into is beyond me).

Then everyone in the town said he looked "familiar" and it wasn't long before a man claimed him to be his long lost war veteran son. (I donno about you but I can tell who my family members are by their walking style from a mile away, not to mention mannerisms, facial marks, etc). Anyways, this man claims that he is his son and soon everyone jumps on board, including his sons fiancé (who after 9 years is still unmarried).

Next, ONE DAY AFTER HIS RETURN his father is like "omg we're gonna re- open the theatre and its gonna be just like old times!" No time to recuperate, or take in his new life and everything that's going on. It was just silly.

Long story short, this film was full of cheesy lines and scenes, ridiculous acting, and unrealistic circumstances. It was awful.

Just another lame attempt at a funny sitcom
12 August 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I feel as though this show is unoriginal and kind of a rip-off of other shows (specifically that of Scrubs). It's difficult to watch a new show when it seems like they are trying far too hard to replicate another one (a more successful one at that). The humor is goofy and kind of screw- ball--they are trying too hard to be funny. It's fairly obvious that Scrubs is the inspiration for this show. It's like they are running out of ideas so they take on one that is absolutely ridiculous--a veterinary clinic that takes on the seriousness AND status of that of a hospital. The subplots are unoriginal and already, after just one episode, predictable. Yes, it's cute to see people taking the lives of animals so seriously (I am most definitely a pet lover and would do anything to keep mine safe but I also understand the importance of human lives OVER animal lives and it makes it difficult for me to take a plot like this seriously). Also, as I said before, the humor is goofy and screw-ball and they way it is delivered makes me want to slap each and every actor/character. I just feel as though this is a failing attempt to make another lame show that will be canceled after one season. Please don't make me endure this show for longer than absolutely necessary. Nice try guys, maybe next time.

Good, Good Show--LOVE Applegate
21 May 2012
I think this show is positively hilarious. Although I am a 23 year old college student, no where near any of the demographics in this show, I find myself laughing out loud during almost every scene. Yes, it's a bit silly and sometimes over the top and the comedy is a bit slapstick-esque but I can definitely see why older people relate to it and I obviously understand why the younger generation finds it comical. I also think Christina Applegate is an amazing actress and does comedy like nobody's business. Her one-liners are as flawless as she is. Will Arnett is also pretty funny--I'd love to have a husband like that at home. Finally, I see everyone commenting about Maya Rudolph attempting to "steal the show." I agree with this, she tries too hard to be funny and I think she has too big of a part in the show considering what it's about...but hopefully with time the writers will recognize that and fix it. This show definitely has potential to be a classic and I hope it continues for many more seasons.
