Gun Shy (2017)
This is a funny movie!
Don't watch this movie with any expectations and you will be pleasantly surprised! Antonio Banderas plays his part well!Be sure to watch all the way to the end, like past the credits, there is a fun part... Bandarass is for sure the star in this movie - the little boy could have used more of a part, I think if they had drawn his character out a little more it could have been a more slap stick kind of comedy.
Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (2014)
I loved this movie!
I gave this movie a 9 out of 10 I absolutely loved it, the only thing holding it back from being a 10 is some of the acting was a Lil flat, especially Sir Lancelot, I just was not a fan - they introduced a new character and he was such a lame flat actor. You should go in knowing it is a kids movie - and that is part of what makes it awesome! As an adult, let your wall down, open your imagination and get enjoy the simpleness of the fun! This is a movie you can take your children to and be completely comfortable - there are no double sided jokes, no dirty humor 'you' will get but will go over your child's head. It is a classy movie in that respect. Both us and the young adults completely loved it and talked about it for days! I cried I laughed, I cried some more and then I laughed again - it was an emotional movie, especially since it was Robin's last movie - the ending was bittersweet. I want there to be more movies but it seems like this may be the last - the reunion at the end is wonderful! The monkey, oh gosh the money is the star!
Jurassic City (2015)
This movie is really LAME
I gave this movie a 2 only because it gave me an opportunity to look at Kevin Gage... if Kevin Gage had not been in this movie I would have turned it off after the first 15 minutes. There is plenty of female eye candy in this movie, I think they might have added those scenes after they realized the movie could not stand on the dinosaur dynamics alone. I am positive not very many people are going to say this is their favorite movie... not even in the top 10,000! But... if you are a Kevin Gage fan it might be worth a gander. I need 2 more lines of text - so I will just say there is some action in this movie, just not enough to make the movie interesting.
The Homesman (2014)
Such a Good & Sad Movie
*This contains Spoilers* I see all Tommy Lee Jones movies but I had some reservations about this one - Hilary Swank as his co lead did not thrill me. But I was so wrong, this movie is great - filled with lots of plots twists. Movies made from books are not always great, you expect one thing but get another - this movie brought the book to life - sure their are a few variances but the feeling you have while reading and the same feelings you have as you watch - Tommy Lee Jones did a great job directing this! There were a couple leading men who could have played Briggs, his roll is important but generic, but Hilary Swank was the best option for Cuddy I could not see any other woman pulling it off - she played the part as if she walked off the pages of Swarthout's novel and on to the screen. Even though I knew what was going to happen I wanted it not to, it would have been OK if they had played it out differently for me, but they stayed true and that was good too. Why a 9 and not a 10 because clearly I enjoyed this movie (and the book) - I felt as good as Jones directed it, at times he lacked the right emotion - when he buried Cuddy there should have been 'more' emotion - not love, no he did not love her, but he should have had guilt, maybe remorse that their union had caused such devastation... when he remarked about her with the young girl at the end there should have been more depth... he directed everyone well but himself... and the best part was after they denied him at the hotel and he goes back - we all cheered! They got what they had coming! I tried not to spoil it too much for anyone - you still need to watch it - then read the book by Glendon Swarthout and see how close they compare : )
The Last Ride (2011)
A very good movie
Not exactly how I envisioned Hank to be but I certainly did not know him. This movie needed Hank Williams music in it to make it complete - and you know he crashed many of bars and took over the stage, he loved to show off, he loved the limelight, he had to be seen and recognised, it it would have been great to have heard Hank tell his story to the young driver, to see flashbacks that lead up to where they were at that point - because to be honest parts of this movie were kind of flat, a little back story would have been a real attention grabber... where was that in this movie? I would give it an 8 - only because I think Hank have more charm & character than they had the actor express. I know this was just his 'last ride' but Hank had a real temper he also was smooth as silk with the ladies and he was one rowdy guy always looking for a fight - I just think maybe they could have let Jessie James add a lil more oomph into this character... this is definitely worth the watch. Kaley Cuoco was awesome in the movie, even though she had a small part.
