The Wackness (2008)

wonderful. . . a must see. . . and, to quote my mother, "extraordinary"
6 July 2008
This film was everything a movie should be. Great direction, acting, writing, and everything else! The acting was superb. Josh Peck really showed that not only is he a wonderful comical actor, but he is an incredible dramatic actor, as well. He was just perfect in this role, and he was able to carry the film with ease. Hopefully we will be seeing a whole lot more of this actor, for he has given the breakthrough performance of the year. Ben Kingsly was, as usual, great. He provides a comical character and creates a character so entertaining, you can't help but smile once he appears on screen. Olivia Thirlby worked very well as Peck's love interest, and Mary-Kate Olsen showed that she has the potential to break away from her child star mold and start a promising film career.

And while some reviews expressed that the use of 1994 (the year the film takes place in) and all the references to that time were annoying, I found them quite funny and enjoyed such references as mentions of a 90210 episode that I recently watched!

The story of a drug-dealing teen's relationship with his shrink/client and his relationship with the shrink's daughter is a truly enthralling one. It felt much shorter than is was and I hope to see it again soon! I loved everything about this film and hope that it becomes the independent film that makes it big this year, just as Juno did last year! It definitely deserves high praise!

best comedy of the year...

I saw an advanced screening of this film, and i just want everyone to know that it was amazing. The audience was laughing constantly. I've never heard an audience laugh so much!! The acting was amazing! Michael Cera was wonderful and so was JOnah Hill. Seth ROgan and Bill Hader were hilarious! The writing was wonderful, and for those of you expecting a "high school comedy", you'd be wrong! Because although this movie is set in high school, the writing and the acting makes it a mainstream amazing movie that could be enjoyed by a larger age group! It was just the most wonderful movie experience i've had in a VERY long time! I just feel bad for all of you who have to wait two months to go see it!

great! read on to see why...

i loved this DCOM (for those of you who don't know what that is-Disney Channel Original Movie)! I went in expecting to find Zac Efron annoying-but no! He was great! He was charming and funny and sweet! Although AShley TIsdale was a wonderful actor and dancer, she was not the best singer in the film. Lucus Grabeel was wonderful! He is so talented! He is an amazing dancer and singer and is hilarious! Although the girl who played Gabriella's voice was annoying, i guess she worked for the character. She was my least favorite. Corbin Bleu was great. The music is great and you will want to buy the soundtrack right away! The choreography was great as well! One of my favorite scenes was the one in the lunch room with all the singers and dancers. It made me want to be in the movie and be a part of that scene! This is one of my favorite DCOMs (along with the following which you should try-going to the mat, the other me, and tru confessions)!!

extraordinary...

i loved this movie. In my opinion, it was the best movie of 2005. Russell Crowe gave an amazing performance and Ron Howard did a great job really bringing you into this time period. It is not like every other boxing movie. It is about a man trying to keep his family together and happy during the great depression. I LOVE THIS MOVIE! When i found out that it didn't do well at the box office, i was in shock! I loved this movie and the fact that not as many people saw it as they should have made me mad. It is a wonderful film and should be recognized a one. The acting is amazing, the directing is phenomenal, and the movie in general is great.

I love this movie. It is one of my favorite movies and I thought Timothy Hotton, Donald Sutherland, and Mary Tyler Moore were wonderful. I don't understand why Hutton wasn't nominated for best actor. He WAS the movie but whatever. Robert Redford did a wonderful job. This movie was a wonderful film and I can't wait to watch it again. Timothy Hutton not only made me cry but laugh as well at the part where he said, actually sang, "Your just Saying that!". I am only a teenager and saw that movie when i was taking a film studies course in high school and i loved it sooo much that i requested it to everyone. Wonderful acting, wonderful direction, and wonderful script: one of the best films to date.

This movie is definitely the best m. Night Shamalan movie I have seen yet and i love him. This was an amazing movie and its "magic" was Haley Joel Osment. He is an amazing actor and definitely the best child actor of our time. He WAS the movie and I don't understand why he was seen as the supporting actor and not the main actor. but actual i do understand. It is because they look down on children, which i don't think is fair. Bruce Willis was very good, but I could imagine a lot of people in that role. I can't imagine anyone else in Haley's role. This movie was amazingly written and the music was phenomenal. I hope everyone in the world gets to see this movie because it is one that you don't want to miss. I know I will be showing it to MY children, are you going to be showing it to yours?
