40 Years in the Making: The Magic Music Movie (2017)
A delightful look at what happens...when stuff goes wrong.
Anyone who has ever loved music has probably had at least one of their "favorite'" bands break up. It happens all the time. But most of us don't know what happened to them later, and most of us don't remember their songs 40 years after the breakup...especially if they never released an album. But Lee Aronsohn did, and had the time and the abilities to get his favorite band back together and make it into a movie.
That's the premise of the film, which is equal parts this nostalgia fest of telling the "after the breakup" story from a band that was truly living out the hippie ideals that so many aspired to, and a story about one guy's love for this band that, let's be honest, most people have never heard of. It's sweet, it's endearing, its educational, and its fascinating. If you're looking for a feel-good story, a bit of history on what happened to (some) hippies, and some really great music, give this one a watch.
