Storming Juno (2010)
Well Told
I found this movie while at Huno Beach in France, and I am a sucker for movies like this, so I picked it up. I must say, it is very well done. Substancially different from most war movies I have seen, the narration can be a bit confusing at times, and distracting. During the duration of the movie, the director uses narration when the scenes themselves should be enough to explain the details to us viewers, therefor the narration becomes a distraction. Despite that happening in only a few scenes, the only other problem I have with this movie was when it switches point of views, that also became a bit confusing if you were not paying attention at the beginning. Other than that, I would have to say this film is extremely well done, and it tells the story of the Canadians and Juno Beach very well. A good movie for anyone who is into history and wars.
Supernatural (2005)
Defining the Supernatural
Supernatural on its own is my all-time favourite TV series. From the sassy attitude of Dean Winchester, to Sam Winchester's tear-filled emotional states, to Castiel, the angel of Thursday's blunt attitude and sarcasm issues, the characters in this series develop and grow into people that you could really believe exist, or could exist. They talk to people, dealing with the supernatural, but also problems that we go through in our everyday lives.
Let us not forget that the imagination behind all of the episodes is amazing, making you want to watch them over and over, to see the next one, not able to wait another week for a new episode.
I have to say, out of all of the seasons, Season 1 still remains my favourite. Meeting all of the characters for the first time is breathtaking. But this season, Season 5, is mind blowing in the ideas that they managed to come up with. Anyone with a passion for the unknown, mystery, hot guys, hot cars, or myths, will be sure to love this TV series.
The Eagle (2011)
A Wonderful Movie, With Wonderful Actors
I loved this movie. This movie was nearly spot-on in the history aspects, following the tale of how Rome's Eagle was lost. The actors that were chosen played their roles well, though, on Tatum's part, he could have tried a bit more for some deep emotions. Bell did well, better than I originally thought he would, and the others did splendid.
The music in this film was well made, and it suits the atmosphere of the scenes perfectly. The way the movie was filmed was well, though there are too many neutral angles when there should be high or low for my taste.
Over all, I would say this is a fantastic film for anyone who is interested in those roman movies. I enjoyed it.
Mirror Mirror (2012)
A Fairytale Twist With Perfect Characters
Mirror Mirror was a wonderful re-telling of an old classic, with a new twist. Humorous and comical, but serious in some parts, with those heart felt moments.
I think Lily Collins was the perfect choice as Snow White. She has this beauty that was perfect for Snow White, and the way she played Snow White, I don't think there was anyone who could have done it better. The way she moved, spoke, and acted, was perfect for the role.
Julia Roberts stole the show, no matter how well Lily Collins played her role. In her huge, obnoxious dresses, and her high, snotty voice, those eye-rolling moments, and the flick-of-the-finger scenes, she dominated the screen, keeping everyone entertained. They couldn't have picked a better person to pull off a queen such as herself! The Prince was comical and funny. Had me laughing a lot, with his dense personality, but his honesty. He was the opposite from most of the other princes, that all seem to be, well, Prince Charming. It added to the story, how he was different.
The dwarfs were hilarious, and comical, but they had a side to them that could be connected to, a soft spot.
I believe that this movie was amazing, done extremely well, despite what others say about it. Everyone has their own different opinion, and for those who enjoy a good comedy and a laugh-out-loud movie, along with a twist of a fairytale, I would say that this one is the one for them.
