Bonneville (2006)
Yawn..are we there yet?
Well, there's an all star cast. That's a plus. Its 93 minutes- another plus. I had to watch viewing in thirds; it was so boring. As a rule I like movies that are supposed to make you think. All I could think was "Quit sticking your hands into his ashes!!" And what the heck has Jessica Lange done to her eyes?!!!? Scary! Every line was predictable; Arvillas hand was in that container like it was a cookie jar; I half expected her to have cookies in there, with her husbands ashes. Tom Skerrit had a lame role. This is NO Steel Magnolias folks! Now granted I've not seen the ending yet- I've just seen the second 30 minute installment, because I have to take a nap its so boring. Its a good thing I bought it at a dollar store for four bucks- I'd like to have three bucks back. Of course you can buy it just to figure out what Jessica has done to her eyes, each time she runs her hands through her husbands remains- gag....even Kathy Bates lines are mediocre... After my nap, I'll try to finish the last 30 minutes...yawn...
The Beverly Hillbillies (1962)
The Mansion
I loved the house.....in my life that was how a house should look....two front doors...a welcoming hall,a place for the men to play billiards....(Not for use as a dining room with pot passers....loL )iT WAS A MANSION, but a welcoming one. A house I would design...the kitchen....OMG Well Jed, Ellie May and Grannie would love my house...As formal as I am...I would have to soften the drawing room....I love the silks and formality...but I would soften it up......the sixties version, though appeciated. is too stiff...even for the "60"'s....A Drawing room is appropriate....so is a dining room... but a relaxed study is also appropriate....in my home you would feel welcome....
Titanic (2012)
Loved it
This is my third attempt...I'll keep it brief..it simply disappears! While one review states too many stories were left out, example Rosa Abbott and her two boys, there are too many stories to tell. The acting was good, costumes great, the set was great. I've been a Titanic fan well before The DiCaprio version, and loved it. Has anyone seen the one with Barbara Stanwyck? Now there's a laugh! And I'm a Barbara Stanwyck fan!
They even discussed the dogs...Mr Astors dog Kitty..I don't know about the Pekingese?
They could have said more about Margaret Tobin Brown. I understand why they toned that down...some stories have gone overboard on it..however I feel she was integral. I do like how they presented the Countess of Rothes and her personality...not just a staid matron, but very involved.
Friends (1994)
Best Show
Friends was one of the best shows ever. However, that being said, if you watch too much you will become critical. The first episodes are painfully awkward. The show does progress however. Rachaels hair goes from awful to beautiful while Monicas goes from cute to "Morticia" awful. As do her clothes. Ross is too pitiful in the beginning.Joey is probably cuter in the beginning, and after too many episodes I came to LOATHE him. Conceited, self focused and a big coward. Some of the best- The backpacking story, the playful pranks Rachel teaches Ben, Phoebe portraying Estelle, Monica and Chandler and the ink spot,(on the maid)...etc......so good.....However...JOEY is the worst character..mindless..self centered...and lets look physically....tiny feet and hands....truly an ugly body...eccch....his redeeming quality...HIS HAIR?....
