Pretty woman meets twilight? Somewhat.
6 June 2017
The acting of twilight, the love story of pretty woman, with supposedly sexual scenes of the secretary. The second part of this series has missed the point of Christian. This movie has gone from a sexual fantasy turned reality to a overly dramatic love story and a cheesy one at that. Christians moments of wanting to be rough with Anna (bdsm play) weren't rough at all. There was barely any of that throughout the whole movie just snippets of hard sex. It doesn't meet the whole idea of 50 shades of Grey at all.

Not much of a story line, is it?
6 June 2017
A colony of men are on land to work on or purchase their own land. Ran by higher anarchy of men, who regulate laws and oversee the "town". Certain men have their chance to purchase a wife, as they do so, the women are sent to the town, by ship, to serve the men as their wives. At first, when the women arrive, men are smitten, forceful, and aggressive over the women they would like to marry. Along the way, The women stick up for themselves and help their husbands through their troubles. Some, however, fall in love with men who are not their husbands.

There was a ship full of women but we only see the main three and two others: The red head, the brunette, the blonde, the governor's wife and mistress castell's maid (supplied by her husband.) Where are the other women??? Only three men were able to purchase women??? A poor man whose worked hard for his money and saved to send for a wife (OK). An older drunk man, who drinks all of the time...(not sure how he was able to purchase a wife)...and a man of high statue (this one makes the most sense). The women arrive and they begin to figure out misfortunes in the town. I thought this would be a "we women should stick together" type of story but no. They barely talk to each other. Silus and Alice hold each other all the time. Too many times. There's a lot of kissing but no sex. Not that it matters but it will play up the point of purchasing a wife for that time period. I'm sure the men didn't buy wives for a working partner. The women are, for the most part, clean yet the men are always filthy. How are the women bathing but the men aren't? Except for the doctor and the men of high stature. Even the poor men's wives are clean.

This Series Can't Win For Losing
5 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I gave this series a 7 out of 10 because the first season was great...and then, the second season happened. The second season made me question this show. Some of the characters in the first season turned out to be a different character in the second season. Rosalee was a scary one turned most courageous over night. Noah lost his courage. Stein became addicted to drugs and suicidal, sleeping with a man who hits her...(it just seemed so out of her character.) Cato turned villain, turned good guy, turned villain again...in two seasons? It had me questioning do I want this person to win? Wait, why was I rooting for this character again? And what was up with the countless story telling/ too much talking scenes? Are we watching a show or an interview?

There were flash backs and scenes that had nothing to do with the storyline or moving the show forward. The ladies practiced shooting... to not use it. Cato transported Noah... just to talk to him...erm OK? Flash backs of Cato fighting...for what? Harriet Tubman did little to nothing when historically she's done much more. Rosalee gets bit by a snake and... Well, she had been bit. Things also felt rushed. John's death and Rosalee's pregnancy. Noah and Rosalee barely had sex. I like this show but Season 2 was a no for me.

Too Much Attitude
12 January 2017
The first episode of this show was pretty interesting. It's not really a new story line for a show but it's refreshing on bringing different races and sexualities together. However, by the third episode, the cringe started to really set in.

In this show, they don't really tell you how old the girls are. I guessed Star is to be going on 18 since she said to the social worker that she is almost legal to get her sister. So, I'm assuming Simone and Alexandra are 17. Simone my be able to pass as 17 but Alexandra and Star come across 20 plus, especially Star. They should have made them roommates in an apartment in their 20's trying to make it big. Ages 21-25, those ages are still young. Star is seducing people much older than her and club hopping at 17?

Star, Alexandra, and Simone all have this rebellious attitude. It's either against each other or others. Anyone who talks to them in this show they have to respond with attitude. It seems like it's in every episode thus far. They can relax sometimes. Carlotta, everyone in the salon, Alexandra's mom and dad have attitude too. It's too much attitude.

There are some things in this show that are cringy and corny. Like, some of the musical scenes and some of the things that are said in scenes. All in all the first episode was decent but it's going downhill from there for me. I don't want to elaborate too much because I don't want to spoil it for those who are interested in watching it.

Too Bad This Isn't a First Impression.
11 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Back in 2012 when this show first appeared, I gave this a 9 out of 10. I thought it was great, which it was...and then Kitty came. When Sherlock's brother came into the show for more than one episode, I felt uncomfortable watching him and Joan interact on a sexual level. They didn't have chemistry. For some reason, the brother made the show awkward. I stuck in there because I figured maybe he will soon be off the show. He exited the show and the show returned to it's original form. Then another character came that was worse than Sherlock's brother, Kitty. Kitty made this show beyond boring. Whose idea was it to bring her on board? There were one too many episodes based on Kitty. I don't know if the actress who played kitty isn't a good actress or her character isn't an enjoyable character but adding her to the show was an awful decision.

An Open Mind is Required.
28 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Now bare with me. The acting in this movie is very melodramatic. The movie didn't give Christian and Ana enough time to get to know each other; one scene she was in his office and the next, in his bed. Movies don't need to be long and drawn out but they don't need to be speedy fast either. However, there were some scenes that were quite hot. The scene where Christian says "if you were mine you wouldn't be able to sit down for a week", when they had sex for the first time, and the first time he gave her a taste of what he likes with a bit of wine and ice while her hands were tied to the bed frame. This movie does undress its actors a lot but none of the sexual moments read pornographic. If you've read the books or noticed the previews then, you should know that Christian likes Bdsm. What was shown in the movie was more of kinky sex than bdsm. However, what was described in Christian's contract was definitely pornographic bdsm. It seems like most people have not discovered bondage, submission, dominance, and other sex forms like it until this movie, which explains why they are so grossed out. There are different pleasures out there other than regular old sex. Don't be so judgmental. It's kind of ironic. Anna too was disgusted when she researched Christian's liking but he told her she doesn't have to do anything she's not willing to try and some of what she tried, she ended up liking. She had to get out of her head and go into it with an open mind. There are some reviews on here that say "is this what women like?". Well that is up to the woman. Women like to feel needed and wanted and women like to give love and receive the same, or more of it. The way Christian chased after Anna was like he needed her and the way he so desperately wanted to have his way with her was how badly he wanted her. He too was falling for her but it interfered with the way he liked things and she just couldn't adapt one hundred percent. She wanted the same love from Christian that she was willing to give him. But, he isn't ready to fall in love with her. So far as Rape goes...How was Ana raped? She did not say no to him during their sexual acts, he asked her did she like this and that and she complimented him on his skills when they were done. She was free to stop at any given moment and leave which he reminded her of in the movie.

Part 1? What's the point?
18 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I get it. A part one is to lead into a part two, only except, this wasn't really a part one. More of a mini series stretched into a part one. Basically, Katniss is alive. Where Katniss is from the place has been demolished. Katniss tours the place. She finds a live rose in a bouquet of dead roses (an envision of Dr. Snow occurs) and Prim Rose's cat. She finds out Peta is alive and she is reunited with some of her old fellows. Together they will fight back but they don't in this part 1, they just plan to. Every time Peta appears on screen he says something that isn't true to his heart and he looks tiresome. Katniss puts two and two together and realizes he is being tortured. Katniss does a lot of starring off into a slight panic with teary eyes. Her character says no more than a paragraph of three sentences every scene. A lot of the scenes had no meaning to move the story line forward. Example: Katniss walks towards a river. She sits on a rock. Gale joins her. (or maybe visa versa) She leans her head on him. His pager goes off and Gale says something like "they want us to come back." He heads back, the camera refocuses on Katniss face. End of scene. Near the end, Katniss realizes Peta is being held and tortured because of her. Obviously, Katniss put two and two together but she didn't get four... YOU THINK! Dr. Snow eventually gives up Peta. Peta is returned bruised and he has a moment of chocking anger against Katniss. That is where the movie got interesting.

Being Mary Jane (2013–2019)
5/10
It Had A Good Start.
18 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Season one, Mary Jane was likable. Sure, she had an affair with a married man but she didn't know he was married until she stepped on his ring. After the fact, she made some clueless decisions but her character was still likable. Then towards the last two or three episodes, the series got a little ridiculous. Mary Jane's character had gone from this strong, independent, love crazy, indecisive, intelligent woman to a teenager who's boy crazy and who's best friend is egging this on. This show isn't the only show to have a few hiccups so on to season two. Season two doesn't seem to have much of a story line. Mary Jane can't decide whether or not if she wants David and every time she gets him right where she wants him, she decides she can't do this anymore. The "this" she caused. The whole season was this long drawn out drama of Mary Jane taking shots for a news report, doing her job as a host and as a family member, wanting not wanting David, telling people off, and nagging. Her character came very close to being unlikable. Mary Jane expected her friend to put her job on the line to save her...the same friend that chose her career over her marriage. It was proved in season one that her friend loved her career the most. So what makes Mary Jane actually think she was going to do that? Mary Jane also hangs the phone up in peoples faces when they don't give her the answer she was looking for. She also told a lot of her family members what they should be doing with their lives. There was no update of the married man and his wife. So, i'm guessing they just moved on with their lives. Gabrielle Union is a good actress and for her sake I hope this show improves. However, at this rate it would be lucky to see a season 4.

Not Impressed
29 November 2014
I used to be a regular visitor of this site because I would check the ratings to decide whether or not I would watch a movie I don't care to see. This movie is rated well above what it deserves.

It started off nice. I thought it was going to tell a realistic love story. Instead, it gave what it said it wasn't, a fairy tale and a cheesy one at that.

Once you get over the fact that they both have cancer, it really isn't a good movie. It seems like the fact that they are sick is the only thing carrying this movie.

Some scenes were really unnecessary, rushed, drawn out and well...boring.

As the movie went on, I couldn't take it anymore. So, as the lady was trying to help the girl up the ladder, I stopped it and returned it. There wasn't any love chemistry between the two main characters. It's more like they liked each other because of the fact that they are both dying. The chemistry is so forced that it couldn't fool a Disney princess.

I love romance movies but this was a miss. I was expecting a heart melting story considering all of the hype over this movie.

On the bright side it reminds me of the movie "Remember me" except that was a better movie.

Olivia and Fitz Best TV Chemistry: Updated (2012/2015)
29 September 2012
This is a great show. The chemistry between Kerry Washington and the man that plays the president is superb. Best chemistry i have seen on a show. I love how she is African American and he is Caucasian. Different is finally on television and she is the lead. I love how it's crime, suspense, slight thriller, and most of all romance. When I first saw the previews for this show, I thought oh no another crime show but this is like no other crime show on TV. I was very impressed and now it's returned for a second season, I'm so excited to watch. Abc is taking over TV channels with best shows. It will be hard for other shows to compete with the chemistry between the characters. The only thing I do not like is, for a president, I need him to be a little stronger and vulnerable. He needs to take initiative sometimes on his own but he's gorgeous even though he's older.

The top portion of this review was written in 2012. This portion is of 2015. I no longer enjoy this show as much as I use to. The seasons have started to rush and a lot of things have happened too quickly. Scandal has gone from Olivia fixing Scandals to her being more of an asset than the president. She has been kidnapped, held hostage, etc. This show could have gone longer at a steady paste but it is now a soap opera. Because, soap operas have unbelievable twists and turns constantly. I miss the first season when she and her team would fix scandals. One more thing, It seems like the president, Mellie, Olivia, Cyrus, Quinn, Huck, Abby, etc. all talk the same! They use to not speak the exact same way but now they do. For example: They start talking fast, very fast, like their minds are racing and the person they are talking to starts to call their name in a repetitive state until they get their full attention. Like, Liv, Liv, Liv, OLIVIA! Stop Talking! Many of them have done this over and over! What's up with the characters talking alike?
