Napoleon (2023)
Language....
First of all, I'm Belgian, so when I'm about to watch a brand new movie, I have certain expectations as far as the spoken languages are concerned... So watching a movie that largely happens in France, Russia, Prussia and other countries and hearing everyone speaking flawless English, is extremely painful... Try watching Der untergang in English, it's blasphemy... Nothing at all wrong with the acting and mostly the action scenes, but after an hour or so I was so annoyed with the slow pace of the movie and the language issue (for me), that I was seriously considering switching off and watching something else... But I persevered, and watched until the end.... Not a movie I could recommend...
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
Dark, dark, dark...
This latest Marvel movie might be literally the darkest movie of the entire series. And I mean that a lot of the scenes are practically unwatchable. The tone of the movie is of course also dark, and the main topic seems to be loss and deaths... It is however a perfectly fine tribute to the not so long ago deceased Black Panther main lead, Chadwick Boseman. The plot and story though are a bit of a mess, and none of the actual leads can carry this movie without Chadwick Boseman, which is a particularly heavy task, seeing as the movie is overly long.... I did watch the entire movie, but was actually a little bored and certainly will not for a second time.
Fall (2022)
Acting not necessary here...
.... and storytelling and direction are apperantly also not necessary. I wanted to give this a chance, but honestly, after about 10 to 15 minutes in this movie I wanted to stop watching. And I didn't. A boring unbelievable story of two almost professional climbers who make totally unbelievable and unrational decisions... And then the big twist at the ending to try and make it all somewhat believable.... Bad acting, directing and storytelling makes this a really bad movie. It takes a strong director to tell a story with only two major characters and make it work somehow. Sadly this is getting boring really fast....
Halloween Ends (2022)
Let's hope it's actually the last one...
These are really getting worse by the sequel, there's no real story, no interesting characters at all, bad lines, bad acting and terrible direction.... Just awful.... Where does Michael even come from? He hides and lives in the sewers, only to come out at Halloween, to try and kill Jamie lee Curtis character for some unknown stupid reason. And actually kills dozens of people, but never ever succeeds in killing her. So here's hoping this is actually the last one... I watched the movie yesterday, in Halloween expecting half a scare now and then, but really, this is just a terrible boring movie.....
Top Gun (1986)
At least the memory of the movie was good
This movie certainly hasn't aged very well, the acting, the terrible music, the always sensual looking and acting women... And did everyone in the 80's really constantly chewed gum? And maybe the " you take my breath away" song was a bit overused??? I've seen the movie when it came out in the mid eighties, and I surely hope that the sequel is better, even for a sentimental movie memory, this is just bad... I never remembered this movie being so boring, But still, I really like Tom cruise and Tony Scott movies in general, just not in Top gun apparently. The typical music played alongside the messy action scenes really started to annoy me after a while as well... I also never remembered that one of the producers was Jerry Bruckheimer, which explains a lot to me. These are of course just my opinions, but that's why these reviews are for I guess. I'm watching the sequel tomorrow, so fingers crossed!
Elvis (2022)
Very weak...
People who rate this movie high, are probably not rating it because of authenticity, because so many things are wrong here... I'm a big Tom Hanks fan, but his accent is just laughable and sounds like something straight out of a cartoon.... What a waist of time...
Prey (2022)
Missed opportunity
I was expecting more of an origin story, but this was just a run of the mill horror action movie with not exactly an interesting story. Acting was good, but why not take the opportunity to show the predators origin planet, why they collect, and how they live... But none of this in Prey I'm afraid....
The Morning Show (2019)
Season 2 totally destroys what season 1 has built
Season 1 was, as so many reviews say, kind of interesting, and actually had a decent story and some interesting characters in it. All that was left out in season 2, because apparently all the viewers are expected to donis watch Jennifer Aniston's locked into one position's mouth trying to act out some emotion through here face.... It's ridiculous what actresses and actors do to themselves just to keep looking younger, and the unnatural look it creates is just terrible and ruins the shows and movies their in....
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Not that good in my opinion....
Why so many excellent reviews and scores? Maybe most original storyline, but if that storyline isn't particularly good, it's not exactly a good movie.... Good actors, can't fault them,.but the movie itself is chaotic and not very well directed... And originality? Well, the last couple of years there are a lot of tv shows and movies made a lot better then this one about multiverse....
Ambulance (2022)
Awful Bay movie.... Again.....
Why I always want to give Michael Bay movies a chance, I don't know.... I'm keeping this real short, this is not a movie, just one big explosion full of nonsense, ridiculous dialogue and unexplainable decisions made by adults... All trying to save one person in the ambulance whilst killing so many in this totally useless chase.... Michael Bay is NOT a movie maker, just someone with to much money who thinks he's a movie maker.... He just keeps forgetting that he has no talent whatsoever in this regard.
Black·ish (2014)
Acting not required....
I guess when the show started to search for people to star in, the first line must have been: acting not required... The first couple of seasons where kind of watchable, but then it went downhill very fast. The scenarios where almost all very much one sided: everything and everyone is always against the Johnson family, and of course everyone else is racist and dumb as well... (Except for his wife, who probably is the only doctor in the world feeling the need to always wear her work clothes....) For a couple of episodes this theme can be turned in to a funny scenario, but not as a constant center piece throughout the entire show, in what is supposed to be a comedy sitcom.... And does the final episode not prove that it's them that are in fact racist? This show is also a big example of kids growing up in a tv show proving that acting isn't exactly something that they are good at... Stiff acting without much emotion and just saying the lines they studied, isn't exactly acting at all. I, for one sat through every episode because my wife wanted to watch the show until the end, and I'm very glad this finally ended.... I hope the actors will end up finding another job, because this show isn't exactly showing them being able to act ...
The Walking Dead (2010)
A show that went from hero to zero...
Are people seriously still watching this? How long can any tv show be possibly milked? I think around halfway season 6 we finally stopped watching the same story over and over again. Never anything new, never any interesting new characters anymore and a storyline that's not even there anymore... A shame though, because I absolutely loved the first 4 to 5 seasons, and please kill off it's awful spinof Fear the walking dead as well... It wasn't that good to begin with anyway.
Station Eleven (2021)
Goes downhill fast!
As so many reviews are saying: episode 1 is indeed very promising, acting is good, storytelling and directing is also excellent. The main character is preparing for a serious lockdown... But then everything and everybody falls asleep.... The story picks up now and then, but ultimately it's just not worth my time anymore.
Valkyrie (2008)
Great movie, well made...
Great story, superbly acted, filmed and told ... A shame it's not German spoken of course, but Singer handles this reasonably well.... A great war thriller!
Yellowstone (2018)
First impressions were great
At first I loved it, great acting and production overall. After a couple of episodes I've decided to stop watching because of all the drama and cruelty with the horses. Does this really need to happen in every episode?
Trying (2020)
Perfect in every way
Funny, endearing, well written and perfect acting.... Well done! Now all I have to try is to get through an episode without crying... But seriously, this is literally a show for everyone!
Cry Macho (2021)
Typical Eastwood movie
Maybe a good deal slower and more peaceful than Gran Torino, Unforgiven or even the Mule, but still an interesting story let down slightly by the acting of the boy that played Rafo... Clint Eastwood is getting older, and of course it shows, but as an Eastwood director/actor fan, I really liked it...
Midnight Mass (2021)
So, so....
Because of all the good reviews, I've decided to give this a shot... But I just can't get into it. It's a good thing the main cast is decent, because almost all the other actors are decidedly not...and that's the thing that turned me away...
Malignant (2021)
Weak....
I was seriously disappointed with this one, really weak cast... The acting was at times really bad. The Story was okay...
Outlander (2014)
Just watch Rob Roy and Braveheart instead
I can't understand all the positive reviews, it must be from all the people who read and loved the novels? I rather watch Mel Gibson in Braveheart trying his best talking Scottish than watch this any further... There's literally no story to be found. It started mildly interesting, but is it really necessary to include rape and sex scenes in every episode?
Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2021)
Not bad at all!
The many less positive reviews are a bit unfair in my opinion. I've rather enjoyed the movie, but it's just what it is: a no brainer, action, funny movie with a silly plot that's totally over the top in any way possible.... Just get some snacks and soda, sit back and have some laughs...

The Good Doctor (2017)
It's going downhill....
First three seasons were great, good believable storylines with good acting and direction. But season four is really terrible, so-so story's, predictable as hell and just plain boring...
The Great (2020)
Disappointing...
I was looking forward to this, and it could have been so much better if it decided which way it wants to go... Comedy, history, drama? Needless use of sex over and over again, senseless talk that very fast becomes very boring.... A pity, because the actors are definitely good....
The Punisher (2017)
What's with all the good reviews?
I can't understand why this show has so many good reviews. Some of the actors are actually not bad, but the overacting of some of the main characters is so shockingly bad.... And the story just keeps on dragging along.... 13 episodes could easily be halved.... What a disappointment.....
