The Scorned (2005)
A Good Movie
The Scorned (2005) 5.5/10 Trish Schneider, Steven Hill, Jenna Lewis, Bob Guiney, Trishelle Cannatella
I just finished watching "The Scorned" on E! I give the movie a 5.5/10... the Unrated version will probably be a 6 or 6.5/10, so.... yeah, the acting was bad for the most part, except for Trishelle. Her chase/death scene was pretty awesome. Jenna Lewis, Stephen Hill, bad. Stacie J, Bob Guiney, bad.
Trishelle Cannatella, Trish Schneider Tonya Cooley, Ethan Zohn, good. And by good, I mean by comparison. The movie is about an "angel of death" who returns to the house where her fiancé cheated on her to kill every unfaithful lover who is there. The movie had a very small budget, but the visuals and such are all good. It's the acting that brought the score so low.
The movie is campy. It has a lot of funny reality TV references in it. There's plenty of violence, which is always good, and plenty of sex. It brings you back to the old 70s and 80s horror movies where it was mainly about sex and violence. It's not "genre-breaking" like it claims to be, but it is a fun little ride.
As a horror movie, it's not very scary, but I wasn't expecting it to be. Some of the editing was scary (and I mean scary bad, not in a good way). The script suffers a little bit from an ensemble of first-time writers (including Rob Cesternino of Survivor fame).
Umm... I guess it's worth a watch. Don't go in with high hopes and you'll enjoy it.
Catwoman (2004)
Bottom 100? No
This movie certainly isn't Oscar-worthy. Definitely not. But it's not bad, either. If I remember correctly, it used to be in the bottom 100 after it got bad ratings from the critics. But it has (rightfully) dug itself out of that low spot.
Would I buy the DVD? No. Was it worth the money to rent it? Sure, but I didn't pay for the rental.
Catwoman is about a girl who dies, but a few cats bring her back to life and she becomes a... bad/good girl? That's the thing about the movie that didn't work for me. Catwoman would beat the crap out of someone and steal jewelry, then she returns the jewelry with a sorry bag and feels bad for the guy that she killed. They should've written Catwoman as a villain, like we all learned to love her as in Batman. I love cats, but they made cats out of CGI and it looked sorta fake. Lots of the movie was CGI, but that's okay. But they overused it, in my opinion.
If you've got an hour and thirty-eight minutes to waste, and a few dollars, rent the movie? But don't buy it. It's not as bad as many people say it is, however.
National Treasure (2004)
This Is My Neighbors' Review
This movie was much better than The Grudge, but that's not saying much. It's a historical kind of movie, starring Nicholas Cage. In the story, the guy has to follow the clues because his family is trying to protect the Treasure of the Knight's Templar, but nobody's been able to find it. You have to watch closely to get all of the clues and plot lines. I think Ben Gates, played by Nicholas Cage is too smart to be true. I mean, if you're smart enough to figure out how to steal the Declaration of Independence, you should be smart enough to get rich on some computer thing like Bill Gates and not have to worry about this treasure. Back to the movie. Riley, played by Justin Bartha, was my favorite character because he added comic relief. Of course, evry movie has to have a bad guy, and this movie's no exception. The bad guy in this movie is evil, and he used to be Ben's partner. The movie has good acting and superb special effects. The script was good, but little kids might not get it. Overall, it was a good action movie, and I enjoyed it. I give it 8 out of 10.
The Grudge (2004)
This Is My Neighbor's Review
Well this movie was the funniest movie ever. Well the beginning was, we were the only people in the theater laughing when the guy fell off the ledge. I mean then he came back to life! I'm sorry but this is a hard movie to follow if you don't watch closely, and it's scary so you don't want to watch some parts. How did the creepy girl get out of the house to chase the sister? That confused me. I think too many people died in the same way: walking down a empty hallway where a strange noise was coming from. How thick are these people? Following a strange noise alone? It's really funny to see the people at the theater scraming i was laughing so hard when my friend was screaming. But if you like to get scared you should watch this movie, or if you like to see other people get scared. I don't think I'll go to see the sequel. This movie wouldn't be scary in the daytime though. The plot wasn't that good, but not many scary movies have good plots. I give this movie 5 out of 10, because it's scary but doesn't have a plot or reason they all die. It would get more if it wasn't so confusing.
Me : Yeah, that's my neighbors review.... enjoy.
Kim Possible: A Sitch in Time (2003)
What A Great Cast
After seeing the movie, I was very impressed with it. It moved along quickly, had great one liners, and had one of the most impressive casts I think I have ever seen. The cast is so diverse, so talented, and they fit the roles perfectly.
Let's start with the usuals : Christy Carlson Romano, Tahj Mowry, and Will Friedle. Disney favorites. All 3 were excellent on their separate Disney channel shows.
Let's move on to Raven and Kirsten Storms. Kirsten is iffy on Zenon, and Raven is amazing on That's So Raven. Good cast.
Nicole Sullivan is one of the funniest women ever (MADtv, King of Queens) and she is perfect as the role of Shego. She does excellent.
Everyone in the cast is great, but the best is probably in the future. Kelly Rippa, Freddie Prinze Jr., Vivica A. Fox, and Michael Clarke Duncan. Wow.
This is one of the best casts EVER, and this movie is a very good movie for both children and adults.
