Alborada (2005–2006)
Romantic story.
8 February 2006
This is a love story that began in unusual and dramatic circumstances between two married persons, she was a newly wed with hope and love for her confused and apparently homosexual husband, who has a dominant and greedy mother, who seeks a grandchild at any cost, and for other side, a foreigner who was traveling in that little town of Panama because of his business affairs. Someone tried to kill him. The mother in law of Hipolita gave her an herbal tea to cause her sleeping and don Luis was her prisoner in his attempt to escape and forced him to make love to Hipolita, because his son was unable to do his marital duties because of his "illness". Don Luis crushed on Hipolita and made love to her, she thought he was her husband, but surprise! he was not. Don Luis apologize to her and escape, Hipolita got pregnant but she did not tell his terrible mother in law about it and got away from her with her maid. She had a baby boy and decided to seek the biological father of his son and wanted to ask him to give his last name. Well, there are more of this love story surrounded by intrigues, obstacles and unrevealed secrets. Hipolita has determination, courage and kindness, but also a strong temper, so don Luis. They are made one for each other. For other side, there are another characters who participate in interesting plots that are connected with Hipolita and don Luis.Keep watching it because it becomes more intense and exciting.

Troy (2004)
5/10
It should be titled "Achiles and Briseida's love story"
3 March 2005
Eric Bana was brave and noble as Hector, Peter O'Toole was very accomplished as Priamus and Brad Pitt was a hero who had a tragic fate because he died young and far from his homeland. I had the chance to watch "Helen of Troy" which was about her love story with Paris, but this new one is focused on Achiles and there are distortions of some events which can't be accepted, for example, Menelao did get back to his kingdom with Helen and Agamenon, after the end of Troy's war, he was killed by Egisto and Achiles did not enter with the wooden horse because he was killed before that. About Orlando Bloom, his role was realistic because Paris was not the warrior type, but Jack Senna who was Paris in Helen of Troy was better in his physical look.

Simple, but very romantic.

I rented this movie, it was my choice for weekend and it was a good deal because Jane and Eddie have lot in common, they believed in true love and both of them are heartbroken, but Eddie was using the mask of a ladies' man, who apparently doesn't care about having a steady relationship, but inside of him there were hurt feelings because the woman he loved and lived with left him, it was a synchronistic event when Eddie found her former girlfriend in the yoga class and about Jane her theory about comparing the men with bulls, it was funny but sometimes true. I loved the end because Jane and Eddie have found out they can have a second chance and it will be better. Hugh Jackman and Ashley Judd act very well their rols, good for them!

Awful.
1 September 2004
When I was started watching it, it seemed to be interesting the plot about the distant relationship between a father and his son, their different personalities and opposite ways of thinking, they are together for a week to find out about the inheritance of a land, the father wanted his son to learn about his family roots, but in the middle of this story, it looks like pieces of a puzzle don't match because the family story is out of time, so it becomes unreal. It's incredible that the grandfather fought in the First World War, instead the Second World War. It was a waste of time watching it. There are better movies.

REMARKABLE MEMORIES OF NATALIE WOOD
11 August 2004
I have just watched this TV-movie in a cable channel yesterday night, as matter of fact, I did not plan to see it, because I was changing channel sand suddenly I was seeing an actress playing Natalie Wood, she was so alike to her, I am really glad to know another side of her life-story, she was a great actress and a woman with a complex personality, but interesting. I have also read some biographies, about her possessive and selfish mother who felt identified with Natalie and wanted to fulfill her lost dreams of success through Natalie, when she was ten years old and said she would going to marry Robert Wagner. etc... Thanks to Lana Wood to share her memories about her sister.

An attempt of biography.

Juventino Rosas was a great Mexican composer, unfortunately his music was not appreciated in that time, many people thought he didn't create his wonderful music. "Sobre las olas" is the name of his most famous waltz, as a matter of fact it is played in many Mexican parties. This film is about him, to show his talent, his true love who finished in unhappiness and loneliness. It's dramatic and tragic, but I recommend another remake, which was created in 1950 and it was interpreted by Pedro Infante, I would rather see this second version than the first one. By the way, I watched this movie on t.v. On the video-stores we can not find this film, it's unknown, but we can find the remake.
