Murderville: Triplet Homicide (2022)
Marshawn Lynch = Improv Genius
This guys is the funniest improv actor I've seen. Even the professionals on the show were struggling to keep up with him. He fully embodies the character and always had something to snap back with in every scene. HILARIOUS. This episode was good 👍
WandaVision (2021)
Unique and Wonderful
A fantastic take on the MCU. Really captivating, entertaining and original. The first half was silly and fun with some sinister undertones that have it a depth. Then as things unravel you're brought back into the classic MCU paradigm with a twist.
Fast-paced. Silly. Sinister. Action. Mustert. Comedy.
And introducing some classic characters from the comic books was a nice surprise!
It was AGATHA ALL ALONG!
The Office (2005)
Painful in the best way
First off, the first season is ALMOST unwatchable. I've had to sit with people to get them through it and then after that it becomes one of their favourite shows.
Character are fantastic.
Steve Carrell gives one of the greatest performances/character developments on TV of all time and this is why: to create a character that you can literally DESPISE for so long and then slowly, slowly, slowly have you fall in love with him so that you want nothing but good things for him and cry when he leaves. Brilliant.
Simplicity at its best. Cringe. Laugh. Cry. Repeat.
Threat Level Midnight: The Movie (2011)
Heads I do it, tails I don't. Best out of seven
"It's got action, it's got heart, it's got some bosom"
There are few films that capture the nuances of the human condition while highlighting the woeful complexities of the life of secret agents. Michael Scarn has the humour of Jason Bourne, the intelligence of Johnny English, and the raw sexual magnetism of James Bond. By the final credits, it will have you pondering how, perhaps, we all need to go puck ourself.
To the people who rated this movie badly I say:
"It'll take a lot more than a bullet to the brain, lungs, heart, back, and balls to kill Michael Scarn."
Murderville: Murder by Soup (2022)
Annie!!! <3
The fact that she is clearly not an improver actually makes this one of my favourite episodes. She is along for a ride she had no idea how she got on and all of her reactions are so genuine. I loved this episode!
Murderville (2022)
Exactly what it's supposed to be!
This show is hilarious. Improv shows are not for everyone (which explains the negative reviews). It's super cringe in the BEST way possible. Dry. Sarcastic. The actors break and laugh periodically. I honestly laughed out loud minimum 5 times per episode.
If you don't like it, it's cuz it's not your genre not because it's bad. It does exactly what it intends and it does it beautifully!
Love on the Spectrum (2019)
Exploitative. Insulting.
I was sceptical but optimistic going in. Reality tv is known for devising storylines and situations and then having the people play them out as they would in "real life" so I was sceptical at the idea of non-autistic persons trying to mould people on the spectrum to fit the directors narrative. It was worse. Not only were all the moments contrived so that the result in watching people on the spectrum perform as puppets, but it was also debasing and insulting (for example, the extended shots of people on the spectrum eating (a task that many on the show struggled with)). It went from "okay..I donno why they are showing that, kinda mean" to "for real? Why are they trying to embarrass them on TV?".
I think the people who rated this show so high are the following types of people:
"Awe look babe, this autistic guy is trying to eat salad with his hands! Isn't that hilarious? They're so cute!"
