Finally, gods, something new-ish and actually excellent
10 December 2022
Characters are multidimensional, story - engaging, events mostly sensible and logical which is rare nowadays, especially in the sci-fi.

I give this 10/10 not because I wasn't able to find flaws in it, but because what it is made me not want to look for them.

I hope the trend picks up. I hope this will be a sign to people on top to take creative risks and try something new, instead of looking at historical data to extrapolate what to make next.

It left me wanting more but also at the same time scared of the future of the series. Not many groups manage to keep up the standards of quality, especially when the first act is this tough to follow.

A solid work

I did not have high hopes going in to watch this as a social activity but I was pleasantly surprised.

Pacing was spot on, plot and sideplots were engaging and done well if a bit corny, visuals were amazing and actions scenes . . . Acceptable.

It didn't have an overarching revolutionary philosophy which I've often seen ruin a movie.

Overall, I would recommend it for what it is - a superhero blockbuster.

What was delivered is almost exactly what I went to see

For quite some time I think the superhero movies kinda lost their identity and niche, or it's more correct to say that they tried to expand into other ones but all that resulted in was movies that I regretted paying to see.

This, right here, is return home to me. When I go to see a superhero movie, this is approximately what I want to see.

Reminded me somewhat of Tim Burton's Batman movies.

Disappointed
13 December 2020
I expected great things from Tomm Moore, have been waiting for this for a long while and I'm sad to have watched what I watched.

It's high quality animation and it will probably keep a child's attention for 90 minutes but the script has no soul or even sense whatsoever.

Just a lot of crude stereotypes doing things stereotypically.

Whatever points I give, are for the visual part only. Credit where it's due.

Sad and dreary . . . in the funniest way possible
26 September 2019
I'm not sure how exactly to describe it but I'd say it's a worthy-ish evolution of the dynamic duo of Mitchell and Webb.

I'd heartily recommend it to anyone who can appreciate the humor poking its head out from the plot full of dreary yet energetic dysfunction.
