Except for Moti's punch lines, the movie has nothing to offer except promotion of HBL and Cornetto
21 September 2015
I went to watch the movie after hearing that its a good comedy although the story is not that great but after hearing the jokes, you wont care about the story. I reluctantly took the risk and boy it was a terrible choice. The movie was wrapped in terrible promotion of the sponsors. Some scenes are terribly fit in context and the item number of Ayesha Omer was forced into the situation. The movie is a 36 hour journey of 5 people, 3 of them friends and Shahzad's neighbor Ayesha and her brother, who take the journey to patch up Zaheem's (Shahzad) girlfriend who is marrying a cousin in Lahore. There are many major loopholes and the most glaring one is the road on which they travel, its the Mehran Coastal highway instead of the N5. At least they should have gotten that right although i understand the point of capturing natural beauty. The only talking point of the movie was Moti and his jokes which somehow saved the movie. Some of the jokes were actually good and did crack one up. Other than that, everyone's acting was below par. I hope the director/producer learn that the limit should not be crossed while appeasing your sponsors. Verdict: If you really don't care about the story and have enough money that you don't care for losing 500 to hear a few jokes, go for it otherwise you know what i mean.

PK (2014)
P.K. was much needed
20 December 2014
P.K. has come in the right time as it was the need of the hour for the people of both India and Pakistan. To promote the environment for inter-faith tolerance, it's about time that we start questioning the preachers, who in the name of religion exploit the masses. Amir's acting was stupendous, Anushka was brilliant as well. Mr. Hirani, thanks for critiquing the nationalist narrative which is often manipulated on religion. In the end, i can't cease to wonder, why on earth Bollywood produces all the crap movies when this is a fantastic example of a movie doing exceptionally well on it's content. Maybe no more stories?

Bang Bang (I) (2014)
i want to bang my head
3 October 2014
First of all, the movie is overrated at IMDb. It isn't worth even a review. Terrible remake (if not copy) of Knight and Day. It is the first time in my life i saw people talking to each other or leaving the cinema before the movie finished. why do the Bollywood directors keep on making these fantasy movies when everyone know that time has passed. The acting of Katrina Kaif was terrible largely due to overacting. The movie might attract the masses who just like fantasized action and a few sizzling numbers. Other than that, there is not script of the movie. Everything is predictable. It is the lowest Hrithik and Katrina have gone in their careers. Total waste of money.

Was Fun
31 May 2014
First of all, i am not a huge movie buff. I only watch Bollywood movies after reading a lot of reviews, and recommendations by friends because usually they are a waste of time. Coming back to the movie, it was fun 2 hours. The movie had its moments, funny, romantic and especially the Indo-Pak element was also appreciable. The story is of a guy Siddharth (John Abraham) who somehow volunteers for a student run organization 'Dost India' who reconcile the people trying to attempt suicide, over phone. One day he gets a call from a girl Mishka, who is about to commit suicide. He reconciles him over the phone throughout the night. After that they start talking more often and Sid wins her trust gradually. In some humorous turn of events, Sid gets to meet Sara and tries to befriend her. He convinces Mishka over the phone to befriend Sid. Mishka doesn't know that the guy over phone and Sid is the same. Friends of Sid, Omar, Aliya, Ankur etc were fun to watch. Overall a good entertainer.

Ainak Wala Jin (1993–1996)
My Childhood Obsession
20 September 2013
Back were those days when we only had PTV in Pakistan and there were only a limited entertainment shows there on TV. Ainak Wala jin is certainly one of the best shows of that time and i still remember how we waited for a whole week for a mere 15 mins episode of the show. The characters of Nastoor, Zakoota, Charlie Mamu, Hamoon Jadugar, Bilbatori and many others can never be forgotten. In short if u r a 90s kid, u really did have an amazing childhood. I wish i could rate this show more than just ten because it reminds me of that time. Kids of today might not find it that addictive as the kids of my time but still its worth watching.
