CSI: Vegas: Trinket (2023)
Tropes and trinkets.
I have enjoyed CSI for many years with the original cast of Gil Grissom. Then over the years the spark was gone through Raymond and Russell. After awhile I just watched to see where the story would end. Meh. Last year I watched for nostalgia and although I was hopeful that with Gil and Sara being back it would renew that spark, it didn't. It seemed there were writers wrestling with taking the old team memories and new team aspirations that was just barely working together. A change in the players and it seems as well as the writing has changed with this season and especially this episode. It had the hallmark of how to follow the evidence but it also had the emotional weight that I wanted to want to care about the characters in the story that has been missed for years (I've noticed this has changed in recent episodes). I hope the writing continues the intriguing back story without giving up the great character care for the primary story I am really enjoying the show. This was a great episode even with some of the old detective tropes.
Day of the Dead: Their Evil Was Our Evil (2021)
May not be Macbeth
Although this may not be the most important episode in Syfy history but I found the chacter development interesting. The previous episodes seemed to meander (not know what the series is going to be...horror, comedy, or social commentary?) This episode also gave clues as to what is causing the day of the dead.
