That Gong!!! As a retired Sailor in the American Navy, I have to say this film is an 11 out 10. The intrinsic value of this work of art is the way it was filmed. All of the work put it into it, is a testament to its essence. Tom used the phrase "a love letter to aviation", as I watched this film, one word constantly came to mind--Love. And I don't mean a romantic type of love, but a love that my brothers and sisters demonstrate on a daily basis, first off, for each other and for their country, no matter what its present condition. Although I never flew, I was part of the flight deck ground support on various flat tops. This film is a tribute to ALL of us; and I did feel that--Love. I could be wrong, but based on Lincoln bobble head and Hangman's "Give 'Em Hell", I'm sure this was shot on two different carriers--Abraham Lincoln and the Harry S. Truman (I had not researched this information prior). This film unified U. S. back in 1986 and I hope it unifies U. S., again today. This film has it ALL.

Holy smokes, there is one word to describe this film--STRESSFUL. I felt it, he felt it, she felt it, they felt it, we ALL felt it. Whoa!!! Is this what happens at shivas?!?! It's like a clash of spirits from every which way. Very strong performance. What a wild ride.

Palmer (2021)

Blew my heart wide open. This situation is very plausible, and that's what makes it genuine. When the world has it in for you, God shows up through others. Sure King David did some terrible things, but in spite of that -- God still called King David a man after His own heart. Today, there is war waged against men and boys, and we as men need to protect those men and boys that cannot protect themselves, no matter what. Men, we must mentor boys to become strong men, and this should be coming from us--not women; this is our turf. This film has heart--and lots of it. This is really, to me, the best Apple Originals has come out with. If you are going to make an Original, make it with heart and balls--not just push virtues, just too push them. There is a lot to unpack in this film, but I don't need to spoil anything for anyone. So, I just wanted to present my initial reaction to this film. I don't care what anybody says, I give it 10 stars. Done.

Roma (2018)

First off, let's get it straight, this film is NOT black and white-it is grayscale, and no, it's not synonomous. The correct term is grayscale.

This is an amazing work of art, not overrated, not overhyped. True to it's astetic and substance. That airplane will just put you in a trance, some faraway thought.

There was most definitely a couple of scenes that ripped my heart right out. I will not say which ones, but indubitably a mine field.

This is the kind of film you must watch over and over again. You will find treasure each time.

Three words-TWO WORLDS COLLIDE. Brilliant film. I didn't know what to expect-and I went in with that uneasiness. All I knew was that, given the pieces of information from the trailer, she was going to stick out like a sore thumb, and I was hesitantly ready for that train wreck. I know there is more symbolism here, but I'm still trying to piece it together. Bravo.

One night I went out--sad and depressed. When I get this way, often I just want to take my mind off of home life, and a film might just be the cure. At this point I had never heard of Aamir Khan nor was I up to date on who's who in the zoo in Bollywood, (even though I had seen Slumdog Millionaire--what a film) nor had I had any intention of seeing a foreign film-- let alone a foreign film called PK. I asked myself, "what is this?" So, I read the description of the film, and a description never gives away much of the film, but I said I have to see this one, I don't understand what its about nor is it in my language, but I have to see it--perfect, this is the film I want to see--lets take a chance tonight. I really didn't want to go see mainstream film (that would be the first thing in theaters that's playing)--how boring. So, I decided to go see this film. I believe that night I was the only non-Indian present inside the theater. Let me tell you, I was meant to be there that night. It was a divine appointment. It was as if GOD Himself said to me, "I love you--it's going to be alright". The more I watched, the more I laughed and cried. It was all in subtitles, but this film was a BIG BLESSING for my life that night, and continues to be. This film became very personal for me. Everything that was discussed, everything that was addressed, I just felt in my heart to be true. BIG important questions asked in this film. I was out of my comfort zone, and I was loving every second of it. To the crew that thought, wrote, and made this film--I applaud you. Thank you for being a part of my life that night, and thank you for allowing me to be a part of yours. This is a very elemental, yet extremely profound film. BRAVO.

Dangal (2016)

JUST WOW.

Amir Khan is back with a Bollywood vengeance -- 1st Class Artist. If you didn't catch him in another film named "PK", I suggest you do -- amazing film as well. "Dangal" inspires hope and courage, and it is very relatable, and that is the currency of the heart, and this film has a lot of heart. Superb film. Thank you for inspiring us to fight our obstacles.

Peter Rabbit (2018)

BRA-VO. This is a BRILLIANT film, very sweet and heartfelt. Not sure why there has been so many bad reviews and a lot of self-righteous comments--but they need to check their politics at the door, and for goodness sake--just have fun, people. Can't we just enjoy it? Why does it have to be so complicated? I can think of a million other things that are much worse--than this Peter Rabbit film, which by the way, there is nothing wrong with Peter Rabbit 3.0. Go see it. You're going to love it, as much as I would've felt the original author would have too, as this is based on her tale for kids, but it is technically a sequel--as you will understand when you see it. First off, they are rabbits, and rabbits are mischievous by nature, when they are bored or there is food at stake. They are also a bit affectionately demanding and territorial as they felt with Bea. Within the context of the film, rabbits don't understand what the implications of allergic reactions could be for humans--they are, yes, rabbits. The humor is just hilarious, and it works well coming from farm animals. This is CGI/A vs. real live humans. It kept me engaged throughout. I saw this one with my daughter and we both laughed so much and so hard -- isn't this what it is all about? a positive experience? One that brings you closer with those you are with? I cried, I laughed, I cried so hard I laughed, and laughed so hard I cried -- and this is how I rate/gauge film I watch -- by how it moves me and the positivity it inspires in me; it felt good to be reminded that I was still human. I just loved, loved, loved this film. I recommend it. This one will definitely make it into my collection once it is released in media format -- and not many make it in. The soundtrack is super amazing too--I can't stress that enough. They hit it on the head with this one. A TRUE STORY OF HUMBLENESS AND REDEMPTION. Your heart will melt into a big puddle--hands down. No one is paying me to write this--I give it 10 Gold stars. I want to see Peter win next year at the Oscars. A TOTAL GEM.

Masterpiece.

Very unfamiliar with Bollywood and its protagonists, but I took a chance on this film, and I have to say-it contains an extremely powerful message. This film possesses a lot of HEART. I laughed, I cried, and everything in between. I loved it so much I recommended it to friends right away. I even told them I would buy their tickets. This film is a multi-topic piece that, we, as humans (no matter where we are from) should seek answers to. The main characters in the film are very expressive and communicate its content effectively. I believe in this movie and its essence. Awesome-hands down the best film I have seen. Well done on this film, well done. Ten stars.
