Evil Dead Rise (2023)

Stop rebooting franchises

I don't know why they bothered. This movie does not offer anything new or innovative and the original and the 2013 reboot were just soooo much better and gorier. This movie was just absolutely pointless. The acting was ok, the special effects were good, butt there really is not a different storyline than: discover a book and a recording, play the recording and yep there's demons. And not even really scary or creepy ones. The movie is full of nods and references to the old movies, but not in a clever way, just blatantly copied. They could have done so much more in this urban setting, but decided to go cheap and stay in one place rather than have the demons run rampant in the city with no escape. A missed opportunity.

Dancing with the Stars: Halloween Night (2022) Season 31, Episode 8

Did Disney+ run out of money? Usually Halloween night (and Disney night by the way) are really huge productions. Now set decoration 1 pumpkin, no special costumes and make-up is a bit of grime and fake blood. So disapointing. The dancing was ok, but not halloweeny and also not a scary song to be heard. My expectations were sky-high when Disney took over dancing with the stars from ABC but it's like they do not want to invest any money in this program whatsoever. The same with Disney night, it used to be amazing, now it was almost non-existant and it just seemed like a platform for Disney+ to promote the B-movies.

Death Wish (2018)

better watch the original

While it's not terrible for yet another remake (really guys get some new material) it's also not great. The story is set up quite well and the actors are top notch, but it takes a really really long time to get everything going. Plus it doesn't nearly have the action and graphic violence that the original was known for. Which considering Eli Roth directed it, is really surprising. So ok to watch, but not sensational

Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

worst marvel movie ever (includes spoilers)

They killed my favourite character in the first minute of the movie. Plus unlike the other movies it lacks humour and heart. It seems like it's just non stop fighting and everybody keeps dying. Then there is the big bad supervillain Thanos, who actually isn't really evil at all it seems as he really cares about Gamorra and is actually trying to save the universe. So that leaves me feeling a bit ambiguous and confused. They also really underused Groot, he just hangs about doing not very much and to top it off, they kill Groot in the end (along with mostly everybody else) How on earth can you kill Groot? That is just sad and depressing, like this movie. So sorry but everything that I loved about all the Marvel movies is just thrown to the side for this film. You will love it if you like amazing fightscenes, but that is about all this movie is, one fightscene after another where the Avengers get their ass kicked and die.
