Everything Must Go ...Relatable
20 June 2014
Had never heard or seen this. Just started watching the movie and so far I cannot see why many put this film down. I am finding the storyline relative to so many married couples and understanding. I appreciate the characters and actors involved. Michael Pena, Rebecca Hall and Christopher Wallace - to name a few - offer a sensible balance. I do adore Will Ferrell. Seeing him in this, I have no doubt about Will's acting abilities. Well done. Just cannot believe this film passed me by when it came out. I encourage the negative reviewers to not expect Ferrell to burst into a SNL skit and see it for what the film is about. Watching Will Ferrell camping out on his lawn after his wife up and kicks him out, sitting in his man chair, feasting on Chinese take-out, drinking Pabst New Ribbon, going to get jerky from the mini-mart is just all so priceless to see. Anyone who has been uprooted from their everyday life can sympathize in processing the shake up. To know how much of Ferrell's character is troubled is truly sad. He had a job, a wife, ...a life and it all came to a halt, even his bank account. Having the desire to sell what he can is truly recognizable.

Deserves reconsideration
7 August 2011
The storyline, cast, scenery, and such are remedy for a decent product. The more I see it, the scenes are yes quirky but believably normal. Some comments I've heard about this is that the 1 star raring is deserved but I wish this film was reconsidered considering the content. The editing may have been off or something but the meat of the movie is charmingly comfortable to watch. The lines are great, don'tcha think? I'm keeping this as more of a discussion topic rather than an actual review. From the house, the family car, the boyfriend situation, the temptations lurking next door, the cat scene, I mean there are so many parts to this movie that is lovable.

Hilarious
12 November 2008
You have to be witty, hip and cool to see and enjoy this comedy. It's hilarious. I can't believe I hadn't seen it before. I love the backyard scenes lol. Or Jerry Stiller's parts, lol. Great fun.

Ooh and the cook omg that's hilarious. You just have to imagine being there with them and you know you'd be laughing. Living together with all craziness of trying to reunite the band. I know it's remake or take on a British project but regardless, it's a great rental and I am looking to own it.

It was just on HBO and now I'm hooked. Gotta love great finds like this.

Spanish Silver
9 November 2007
This is the episode where we see Rory speak in broken Spanish and polishes the silver with Esperanza. I love the frustration on Emily here. This is also when we get to see yet another side of Lorelai, Rory, and of Emily. They all shift in feeling despair and hold on tight to the stubborn ways, as to not back down on a feeling they are trying out. Rory will not admit yet on how all of her troubles (or at least the main ones) could be dealt with if she just let her guard down and make up with her mother. A good game a Bagel Hockey is in desperate need here. Don't you think? Lorelai is deeply hurt from not having her assurance with Rory and settles on pouring her love into something, or someone, that could offer her warmth in return. Emily is as stern as ever setting control and having that lurking over Lorelai's head. Evil, I tell ya.

Better than expected
30 August 2007
With the title so close to super-size me I had thought this film would be another hyped slam on fast food and American's dietary habits. And it slightly is, however there is a story which you know truly brought forth so many issues known and gave each issues reality and face. To step further in understanding and feeling how everybody is effected by something that we all are privy too is fascinating. Many roles in this film was assumed generic I felt but after seeing it, I see that everybody cast had purpose and held their job. Knowing Wilmer was in it I shook my head thinking he was going to poke fun at things, acting like a fool like in other projects he's been known to do. To see him with Catalina I had further doubts and just he along with most other cast members blew me away. I sympathized with his character and Catlina's the most because it is their roles that the average American deals with on a daily basis practically. The end result of what she sacrificed had me in tears. It truly made me angry and hurt known how true her situation was and how that scenario is adapted in so many job settings all over the world. Crushing.

This took me years to track this down
5 August 2007
I have been asking around for simply years for this cartoon but I never knew how many H's were in the title to be able to search correctly.

Well, I will do my best to purchase it at whatever the cost.

This cartoon is by far of my dear favorites of all time. The hilarity of beyond funny. True comedic situations that is leaps and bounds in the same direction but way ahead of its time of the great Simpsons cartoons. Having realistic themes with outlandish results is what makes this cartoon fantastic. I cannot stop laugh when I see this or even think of it. On www.youtube.com I can only find this cartoon in french I believe it is in. If only I can find it in English, I'll be one grateful camper.

The horns, the laughing nurse, the signs at the resort ...everything is over the top genius.

One of my favorite episodes
5 June 2007
This episode is one of my favorite episodes of all time. Debbie Allen, Clare's real life sister plays a role much like the one she played on FAME. A militant instructor asked sought out to help whip Clare into shape (she was already in shape) to be able to fit into a nice dress Clare once fit. Clare is seen becoming as silly as Cliff is when trying to commit to a diet and exercise plan. She acts just like many of us do and that forever makes me laugh. I think of this episode when I do all I can before getting on a machine at the gym and I think of the outfits and everything. Clare tried so hard to come off stern and when she gets her cramps she buckles and has to admit how much the new plan hurts. It's just hilarious. The chemistry between Clare and her real life sister on screen is fantastic.

Of all the reruns I see on Nickelodeon and other stations , I rarely see this one. I am still waiting for this one! This episode is reason enough to buy the DVD of this season.

opening doors to future Latinas
30 January 2007
This is exactly the style of movie I have dreamed of screen writing is as long as i can remember. Like mentioned above, this movie has been named a Latina "Waiting to Exhale" but it deserves its own recognition. I see the comparison and it is shameful that a strong ethnic, female based film is so easily categorized and thrown with others so quickly. Both offer main character situations that I recall stirred controversy in that audiences found it false to see women in such strong characters, and being that they are ethnic in US in present times. It's liberating to see characters like this. I wish to work with this cast in my future. Thank you, Luminarias. And yes, going to the restaurant now really brings out my appreciation for the film out.

A superb experience
4 January 2007
Without a doubt, "YO SOY, DEL SON A LA SALSA" is worth anyone's while to fall in love and appreciate salsa the music, the culture it represents, and the pure understanding of what various types of salsas there are. I thought I knew much but after this I a sponge absorbing all I could. It is with this documentary that I immediately went out and bought the fantastic double-CD set and have enjoyed it ... going on 11 years now. All the stars involved in this documentary is a true rarity. To have them captured in one film was done with immense honor and respect. Other documentaries I've ever seen may involve recycled footage and does not explore further than the handful of artists, at least in the US knows about. This dug deeper and grasped -- the History of Salsa. I urge all to take the time to watch this, and as I did, fall in love.

laugh out loud
19 December 2006
The lines, the faces, the music, the scenes are just hilarious on all levels. Easily favorite of ours. You will love the comedic dynamics between the two legends. Their pairings is much like that of Lemmon & Matthau.

"those aren't pillows" Mrs. Pool behind the car rental counter is genius.

All of the scenarios the two go through, especially Steve Martin are random situations that the majority of Americans come across in their own right and it is laugh out loud material to see it represented comically on screen.

loved it
30 September 2006
I adore this movie so much. I just decided to slip it on and there I go laughing at just about every line and scene. The characters are hilarious, the movie was well casted. Janeane Garofalo's lines alone are things that I say now. Toby Walters reminds me of so many people from high school and I just wish I was as sarcastic then as I am now. Romy and Michelle are silly, adorable, funny, and make me think of a friend and I whenever we get together. The dressing up for the gym scenes and the scenes with rrr-Ramon is killer. From trends and life during and after high school, no matter your graduating class, this movie will make you laugh.
