Black Site (2022)
Geography was not their strong point.
I knew this was going to be bad from the 1:50 minute mark. The camera zooms away from the blast in Istanbul in Turkey only to appear to be zooming out from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Such a shame as I think that Jason Clarke is a top notch actor.
Invasion: First Day (2021)
Wooden lead.
You could easily replace Golshifteh Farahani with a photograph of a startled moose, she has only one expression!
It seems a common theme in Hollywood these days, to write a five episode series and the stretch it to ten.
Clarkson's Farm (2021)
About the reviews.
When reading reviews on here I am often struck by how similar some are; it's as is the production company has emailed a whole bunch of people and given them bullet points that they want highlighted or a theme stressed.
This one is different, there are so many unique reviews that are overwhelmly postive that they're a joy to read.
Almost as much as the series was a joy to watch.
Doors (2021)
A magnet and iron filings?
Is that all they could afford for the special effects?
The King (2019)
Utter tripe
After five minutes I knew this would be bad, but how bad I would never have guessed. So historically inaccurate I'm surprised they had the gall to even suggest it should be presented under the byline of Biography, Drama, History. It should have be labeled "Warning, fantasy, under no circumstances mistake the events portrayed as anything but complete and utter fabrication"
One to be avoided.
Higher Power (2018)
I wonder what the film was like?
Couldn't stand the seemingly never ending opening credits. I watched eight minutes getting more and more annoyed before giving up. Utterly pointless.
Theirs Is the Glory (1946)
My father was at the bridge
I am writing this as I saw that the film only had a 6.9 rating on IMDb and would like to input something personal. My father was one of the first at the bridge and one of the last to be captured.
Many years ago we went to see A Bridge Too Far. (The night it opened, free tickets! As a young man I was impressed. After the film we driving home and my father said that had felt like walking out halfway through. "Their's is the Glory was an account of what happened at Arnhem; this is not a patch on that, and the way they portrayed Boy Browning ans was truly disgusting)
From a cinematic perspective ABTF is a fantastic film, but Their's is the Glory is not only a great film but historically accurate.
I hope you enjoy it and remember the sacrifice that so many made to give you the freedom to watch it.
I Am Soldier (2014)
Indescribably bad
It looks like the writer has watched a few documentaries on the SAS and then copy and pasted from some of Andy McNab's books, and still got it all wrong! I was surprised to see Miranda Raison in such a third rate effort, she should be able to do better. Some half decent acting from other members of the cast but unfortunately it couldn't compensate from the truly awful script and poor continuity. Anyone that has been to Wales knows not to expect bright sunshine in the morning during the winter, it's a rare enough occurrence in the summer! I had to watch it all the way through just to see if the end was as bad as the beginning, and I was not disappointed! More like Ultimate Force/Farce.
