Most graphic ever
7 January 2013
About 2 months ago I saw this movie called "A Serbian film" and I thought I have seen some of the worst and most graphic images a body horror movie has to offer. Then, 2 days ago I saw "The human centipede-first sequence" and thought this is as sick and as graphic as it can get when it comes to this genre of movies. But then again, today, 2 hours ago I saw "The human centipede-full sequence" and I was cringing almost every 10 mins through the entire movie. The lead character is so damn creepy (hats off to laurence harvey), it gave me shivers when he would just look right into the camera. The best part is the entire movie was in black and white. This gave an artistic touch to brutality. The best and the most graphic movie I've seen in body horror films so far. Kids, think twice before you even think of watching this movie. You will never be the same after sitting through the entire movie.

Very predictable
3 January 2013
If you have never watched a movie that has mind-raped you, watch talaash. you may like it. I reached the movie half an hour late and understood bits and pieces of the movie as I was watching it. There's one scene in this movie, 10 minutes after the interval. I saw that and that was good enough for me to figure out the whole plot, including the climax. Yes, It's that predictable, but then again, it's just me.

If I ever feel like watching it again, it will only be for rani mukherjee. I'm not a fan. But the way she has adored a saree in this movie... absolutely gorgeous. There's nothing else to talk about this movie.

Kumki (2012)

Disappointment overwhelms the amazement
3 January 2013
Kumki was both disappointing and amazing. But If I have to talk about the overall experience, I must say the disappointment over whelms the amazement.

If you are going for this movie expecting that it's a story about a kumki elephant (a trained elephant that's used to scare away even herds of wild, savage, forest elephants) you are going to be disappointed. There was this 5 minute scene where an experienced rider coaches the main character about the bond between the rider and the elephant. About how the will power of the rider fuels the will of the elephant. About how the courage of the rider gives courage to the elephant (sounds avatar-ish, but true). I was so waiting for this throughout the movie. But disappointingly, the whole movie is more about the bond between the main character and his tribal love interest whom he keeps oogling at from a distance while she merrily frolics in the paddy fields.

What's amazing about this move is the cinematography. Many shots in the movie especially those in the songs "ayyayyayyo aanandame", "sollitaale ava kaadale", "soi soi" are breath taking. Gave me goose bumps.

So if want to walkthrough an art gallery of some stunning landscape shots, I mean really stunning shots, go watch the movie, you will be impressed.
