The Terminal List (2022)
Where have these writers been?
For the last few years it feels to me like we've had no breakout storytelling shows, and I've felt for a while that I'd write off the TV show format of video entertainment, being left with YouTube videos for mind numbing fall-asleep material.
Then Chris Pratt comes on the scene with the action / psychological thriller that legitimately sends you on an emotional rollercoaster while the cinematography feeds you action eye candy, piece by piece. A wonderfully written emotional story backed up with excellent performances from a very well chosen cast that did their homework. The sound engineering is also excellent (I've only wantched on 2.1 but will adjust my review if it doesn't pan out as well in 5.1 and Atmos). The scripts are solid, the deliveries are solid, the editing is solid. This show feels like a movie, and for the amount of content being fed to the viewer the pacing feels about dead on for a first view. The head trauma aspect had me constantly third guessing what was going on, while some of my initial narrative hunches played out to my logical conclusion it was still enjoyable to get there (even when I was sad about what happened on the screen).
I'm simply (and sadly) just surprised to have been delivered this absolutely fantastic banger of a TV show. Not to mention, in such proximity to the Jeff Bridges / John Lithgow led The Old Man. Funny enough, I don't typically fall into the "Army Movies" category, but this show has something special and I'm really hoping they know what it is and protect it.

Probably you're cup of tea, if you think for yourself
YouTube channel series that has a lot of focus on hypocrisy and pointing out immorality in online communities and Hollywood. A normal everyday basement beard, regular dude with pretty milquetoast takes bringing aggregated new article reports together with honest commentary.
