Dil Chahta Hai (2001)
Listen to your heart
Certainly one of the best movie that i enjoyed. yes enjoyment all the way...very touching scenes from our daily life. The characters are so common in our life. I felt i am watching myself with my friends.
I have always been a biggest fan of AAMIR KHAN and this is one of the finest performance by him. From his hunky funky flirto type to intense mature person in the end, you love him all the way. Both SAIF and AKSHAYE were perfect.Saif was so likable and played it to perfection. Akshaye did a real just with his character which i think was very difficult as well A lesser actor would have easily failed to bring the expression and mood to the character but he performed as this character was made for him. In fact the trio worked so well...the on screen chemistry between them was so great that the made it look so real. Preity showed why she is one of the best in Bollywood. Music is the high-lite and all the songs are hummable, well choreographed and picturized. "DIL chahta hae" still reminds me of inner me. "Janay kiyon" will mesmerise you and "koi kahe" is foot tapping number that ll sure bring you on the floor. The last one "TANHAI" was picturised superbly and expressions by AAMIR were tremendous.
You cannot say that this is the debut movie for FARHAN AKHTAR. An excellent effort by him. Wish he ll be back with some more flicks like this.
King Kong (2005)
Simply breath taking!
This is simply the best movie that hit big screen. It is not only a visual master piece but the direction and acting is top notch. I have never seen any thing even close to this as far as computer animation is concerned. Especially the scenes in the jungles, when Kong fights with dinosaurs and those bugs/insects ....amazing.The background score is outstanding. The Beauty that killed the beast was the beauty in true sense of word as portrayed in the movie. Compared to NARNIA and Harry potter ( released around same time), this is way ahead. It is really the 8th wonder of world. If u missed this flick on big screen, U did missed the life time opportunity. All in all ,my hat off to you Peter Jackson...you are the king.
Kaal (2005)
High on hype,low on material
This movie is a bit different than what you expect from Hindi cinema.cast was a big factor for audience. Promo songs "Kaal Dhmaal" especially was good.Promos were very catchy.Red CHillies (Sharuk khan) and Karan Johar were the producers and Director Soham Has been Asst. of Ram Gopal Verma and Karan Johar.but unfortunately,After the high hype created my promos and web reviews, i expected a nice excited supernatural thriller.....yes supernatural it was but no way near being nice and exciting.first of all the story and direction let me down. The first scene of John with an ANACONDA....lolz. He was running with him on the ground and able to catch it and when the phone rang....he simply dropped it....i really don't know what the director wanted the audience to see.Director tried to make us curious by the characterisation of Vivek Oberoi and there were no explanation of his attitude in the movie....lots of characters in the movie without any significance.....Introduction of Ajay Devgan and his dialogue were good at times....but ,most of the time story is predictable. Overall, a letdown.YET ANOTHER FLOP BY RED CHILLIES ENTERTAINMENT
Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992)
Everything what you want in a good movie
It was a much awaited movie because of its music and I was highly entertained by it. From start till end this movie keeps you glued to your seats.
Starting from the performances...a top notch.Amir khan,Mr perfectionist, was totally remarkable. From his starting non-serious attitude to ending maturing person was tremendous.Aysha Jhulka, Pooja Bedi both gave excellent performance.Mamik as Amir' elder brother was a surprise.you cant say that that was his first movie.he looked like a seasoned performer.Deepak Tijori and his three friends all got in to their rolls with total ease.Gulbhoshan Kharbanda and Asrani were fine as always. Gahanshu and Ghora as amir's friend were adorable.
Music was one of the most attracting feature of movie especially 'PEhla Nasha' by Udit Naryan is still one of his most famous song that Put him on the top. That song competition was very hummable....Jawan ho Yaro...still refreshes me.Last but not least that Ghazal 'Rooth Ke hum Se Kahin' excellent situation and lyrics.
Technically speaking story was very interesting.it has piece of every emotion...Fun,friendship,love,routine life scenes, fight, entertainment . Direction couldn't be better....especially those cycle race scenes ...bets of the best. for me it is a 10 starer....Highly recommended
