An Intriguing Take on Immortality
10 May 2018
This was a strong first film for the director Maurice Haaems, and while it wasnt perfect I def enjoyed it. It brought up some interesting points and made me question aspects of morality when it comes to cutting edge science. What are the consequences of extending humans life spans to immortality? What are the moral consequences of using fetal stem cells in experimentation? The film intelligently explores these conundrums - or at least starts to explore them, and then leaves the rest to the viewers to think about themselves. Some of the dialogue was very powerful and punchy, whereas there were other moments dialogue could have been better/less dry. You also really feel for the animals that are being used in the experimentation and wonder about the morality of it.
