The Dirt (2019)
1/10
Absolute trash.

Where to start?

The only character that is believable is Machine Gun Kelly as Tommy, but then again you strap a wig on a string bean and I'd believe it.

They wanted to show the insanity that was The Crue, but pulled stories that were sub par at best, not to mention they chopped and sliced some of the antics... didnt Mick take the bullet for Tommy's hotel escapade?

Hell didnt Tommy leave the band briefly and be replaced by two drummers? Am i forgetting The Crue history?

How the hell are you going to jump from the 94 album straight to the Red White and Crue tour to show nothing from that tour, past Crue Fest straight to their final show in 2015?

Are we just gonna flat out skip and ignore the fact that Nikki tried to copy Nine Inch Nails? Or even touch on Pam and Tommy (I mean that was pretty big), hell even Vinces racing? Golfing? Or stint on surreal life?

Not gonna dig a bit deeper into how "mysterious" Mick Mars was/is?

Give zero acknowledgement to any Corabi songs? Despite the fact he even had parts in the book?

This movie is a trainwreck from the 10 minute mark until the end, despite being documented, the movie lacks cohesiveness. One story bleeds into the next.

After waiting for the better part of a decade for this film to be picked up, filmed and released. I would much rather have seen it stay in preproduction for eternity.

Repeaters (2010)

Not a synopsis

As it states, I'm not going to repeat what you already know.

In the strange event that today repeated itself, tomorrow, and the next day, and so on. Questions you would ask yourself would be grand, and this movie does NOT leave many questions.

If you were given the same day to do what ever you want, would you kill, would you murder, would you rape, or would you save a life? these are possibly already questions you may have.

Luckily this movie gets to the darker groundhogs day that some people may have been thinking about the whole time. I mean why wouldn't some one want to go rob a bank, or possibly commit a even more heinous crime? Tomorrow it wouldn't count right?

This movie bends your emotions, plays with your mind, and doesn't stop until the end.

This movie does lack real depth, which may cause you to not be as close with the characters, or may cause you to lose interest. But with that being said with what depth it tries to create it isn't a reason that this film should be avoided, not by any means.

The filming is perfect, it captures the lovely British Columbia that I've loved since I was a kid, and happens to make a wicked back drop for the entire film.

There was only one actress I knew in this entire film, which was Amanda Crews, asides from that I have never seen any of the other actors/actresses in anything. If they have been in several other works than that would explain how their acting helps this movie on so many levels, it will play with every emotion no matter how heartless you are.

But if this is actually one of their few jobs they pulled it off perfectly.

I couldn't give this anything less than a 6

Zenith (2010)

Fantastic

Before I even get into the review of this movie I want to point out one crucial thing, this is NOT just a movie, this is what several people on the inter-webs calls an "alternate reality game" ultimately involving people who watch the film, listen to the album or read the book. Great example is Nine Inch Nails album "Year Zero".

Now let us get into the meat of this beefy film, a few reviews below me had to have been done by someone who is involved with Fred Phelps, maybe they decided to watch it with family, and then there is the possibility this person hasn't seen an indie movie in his entire life.

This movie follows very close with the styles of Fight Club, with the narration, and such events that I will not disclose for your sake.

This movie/mockumentary will start out kind of confusing but it wants you to hang in there because not only are the following hour and twenty minutes worth it, but are crucial for you to get ANY grasp on this film. Without partaking in the ARG. The camera styles used are just as you would expect on a low budget film, but it doesn't ruin or take away from the film at all.

The acting is far from sub-par, but very well for relatively unknown actors and actresses, with slips here and there but its easily over looked. Sets looked as though this dystopian 2044 would be possible.

But the end, I didn't quite get it, its not as out there cause they're really is no end at the end of the movie, it is open for YOU the viewer to help Jack out, find out the true end of everything.

But to say that they used the "F bomb" too much is BS, I have seen holly wood movies use it more, it sillier ways than this movie did, and to say that the "love" scenes were anything less than a standard holly wood "sex" scene is ludicrous, maybe if it was Channing Tatum and Katy Perry it wouldn't be as bad, or maybe if they played some John Mayer while it was going on, its crazy to say it was over used over played, it set the movie with a different feel.

And yes there may or may not be a "rape" scene, but you decide, and tell me what you think. Also note they're MAY be an abortion scene... MAYBE you can help me out with that, maybe you have the 4:3 version that I could borrow to see more.

Just trying to state the obvious, this movie is at its best a mind bending twist of crazy, and at its worst... a mind bending twist of crazy, its no Serbian Film...

there is very little that hinder this movie from being a top movie in 2010, or even being viewed once by all who have netflix.

If you don't watch this you are missing out.
