The Little Mermaid (2023)
It is decent but the star is Melissa McCarthy!
Okay first off Melissa McCarthy NAILED her role as Ursula! Like 10/10, she understood the assignment she is the only one that is exact from the cartoon.
Now onto the review. In general it's honestly not a bad movie, I liked how they expanded on Eric and the actual relationship b/w him and Ariel. Now. The CGI mermaids were not the greatest, beautiful 100% but the human parts of them was off, something wasn't done right there it just was weird for some reason. The entire beginning in the sea just looked off, they way the actors "swam" and moved their arms was off and pulled from the scene at times.
King Trident was not good, his "shirt" made him look weird and he was just, meh. Also why was his "shirt" a darker colour from his tail? And why wasn't he shirtless like all the other mermen? It was a weird addition that shouldn't matter but made his body portions off that he looked funny. If they maybe changed the "shirt" look and colour than it could've looked better.
They also needed more of a backtack to songs sung, it was almost like we were just in a room and the actors were singing. They sound amazing but I don't know if it was the theatre or not, but there was barely a soundtrack to the lyrics.
I feel like Hailey is an amazing actress and she did a great job as Ariel, though some of the songs she went a bit too hard in the song and it made it sound not the greatest. Like her singing with Sebastian in Under The Sea was a bit much to the song and feel of that song.
The movie was cringy in many many scenes but overall the entire cartoon and story is cringy as hell so honestly what does one expect?
Overall it's a decent movie, it's just like the cartoon, the biggest points to me that brought it down was the CGI, and some of the acting. Some scenes were really over acted but that could've also just been due to the writing. But Melissa McCarthy deserves a freaking award for her performance in this film. What stick out the most to me was how amazing she did!
Also side note, the writers wanted the animals so realistic but yet kept in Ariel holding and swimming with some of the most dangerous jelly fish that can kill a human...like just seemed like a weird oversight when they were adamant on making all the animals and creatures look and act realistic....
The Last of Us (2023)
Meh
It's alright, not this stellar amazing thing people in the comments and reviews are going off about. Honestly don't even know if half these people even watched the show with what they're saying.
It's similar to the game, and seems to be following the games pretty well, but we need to watch more to see if Joel and Ellie are playing as Joel and Ellie the way fans hope for. So far it's okay. It's watchable, entertaining, people who haven't played the games would probably enjoy this a lot.
Joel is okay, I'm not the biggest fan of Ellie so far, I think if the writers and director actually had her play the games that she would've gotten the character better.
Morbius (2022)
Decent yet lacking
It's a decent movie, I enjoyed it and would like to see more. Though they lacked a lot of information, like they could have made it 30 minutes longer to better explain some parts, and maybe make a better ending. But overall good.
Cinderella (2021)
Honestly....
Honestly not horrible, just Camila was what ruined it for me...I bet she is a super nice girl and all but her voice isn't that strong in general and her songs on the radio are catchy but not really due to her voice (in the nicest way possible) and compared to most of the casts voices it really did her dirty when you hear them all and than her voice added.
I did really enjoy the jokes and play in song lyrics, especially the beginning of the ball.
Wicked (2021)
I get what they tried.
Like I appreciate it stayed true to the books, and stuff but like. If you didn't read the books you'd be lost on what is going on in many scenes. And like some scenes from the book were great but rushed in the film that it was like, you should've just cut that scene out and spent more time on more important scenes. Also. The acting. I'm sorry. I wanted to love it. But it was so brutal and cheesy. And I've seen some of these actors in other things before so like nothing against the actors. But. I really tried.... I did sort of like it.... I liked Ivy and Ren.
Charmed (2018)
How did it get a season two?
Honestly this just isn't that good of a show, the acting is not the greatest though could be more the writing than the actors themselves. How can you do a remake of a classic show to begin with, and than botch it?
Also how did this show even get renewed for a season two? Why are Great shows getting cancelled and shows like this still run?
The Rain (2018)
Loved It
I keep reading some reviews and people seem to say the characters are boring or stupid, or that it was slow. But I didn't see that at all. Like all shows you have to watch with an open mind, put yourself in their position. Sure sometimes you get annoyed by their actions, but that's the point. I absolutely loved this show, I have watched it multiple times as I keep showing it to friends and family. I really hope people don't ruin it for others and we get a second season to see how this journey ends.
This show is unique and that's what intrigues the viewers into the story, to try and uncover the same answers our characters are searching for, but also understanding in each episode each characters motives and actions. You begin to connect with the characters and even begin to love some of them and want to slap the other over the side of their head. That's what makes this show so good. It involves the viewers to actually feel with its characters.
Assassin's Creed (2016)
Good Movie
Now, I will state that it has it's weird moments especially from being someone who plays the games, but it honestly isn't that bad. I throughly enjoyed it, did have some confusing scenes but it's a movie based on a game and you really need to take the game aspect out when you watch these types of movies. Most of these bad reviews are from gamers which I can understand, but it's a movie, it's not aimed for just us gamers it's meant for others as well. I know this will probably never get it's sequel, which is sad, but I would really love to see one with all these actors, like they know what went wrong with this movie, so give them a second chance to fix it. I'm actually curious and excited to see where they could have taken this.
Sense8: Amor Vincit Omnia (2018)
Amazing!!
This was absolutely the best ending to this amazing show! Everything was awesome, I just wished they had the group sing to What's Up? By 4 Non Blondes one last time as it was the first moment they all connected and accepted they were together, and it would've been beautiful to see it end on the same note with that song.
The Dark Knight (2008)
Great Movie
This movie is with out a doubt the best of the Batman series, it was dark, fun, exciting, and best of all Heath Ledger was just magnificent!! His performance alone was 12 out of 10. If you are a fan of the Batman series, even if your not, this is a great movie and I would recommend it to everyone! The Dark Knight Rises is also a great movie and with out a doubt as magnificent as this, but this is the best out of all the batman franchises! I hope this review helped those contemplating if they want to watch this or not, in my opinion this is a fantastic movie that everyone should at least watch once in their lives.
