Berserk in the Antarctic (2000)
Adventure
Correction to previous post on this film: Jarle Andhøy arrives in South America! ...makes acquaintance with an American and an Argentinian, the three then sail to Antarctica across Drake Passage in the tiny yacht. Superb footage of the wild sea, icebergs, pack ice, penguins and the two (they let the Argentinian catch a lift home with a cruise liner) remaining adventurers messing around with seals. It's a really good film of a bold young Norwegian seeking adventure - and finding it! The yacht's fate is fortunately sealed once they have already returned from the dangerous and remote waters of the antarctic. I saw it at Kendal Mountain Film festival in the UK - I think a DVD of it may be available in Norway.
Alone Across Australia (2004)
A great adventure film
A great film (documentary) about Jon Muir's incredible solo trip across Australia. ...he not only encounters dead bovines, but eats from the rotting carcass! Throughout the film there are things that amaze, surprise and inspire. Highly recommended to anyone who is interested in the outdoors and/or the resilience of people undertaking extreme endeavour(and perhaps dog owners who can take a knock). Some of the shots were apparently recorded after he had completed his journey, but they don't stand out and undoubtedly complement the film by showing him lost in the vast landscapes.
