Was this a rip-off from Pet Semetary, Flatliners or both? Yes! And what has happened to the art of the Brits making high-quality productions? At first I thought that The Asylum Production company made this, but no. If they did, it would be at least worth a look!

This is meant to be part of the After Dark's 8 films to die for Horrorfest. I am not fussy when it comes to horror, but their standards are REALLY sliding! This was badly acted, scripted, shot and in fact bad in every department. The comedy falls flat. The characters' stupidity is beyond reason! They are stereotyped, unlikeable brain-dead twits! They stand there while the killer prepares to kill them! The killer's only weakness is an allergy to pancake syrup?! I mean WHAT THE %3@&! Another gripe is the very long running time of 105 minutes. It should be cut down to 80 minutes. The content of this movie does not have enough for the excessive running time. This is not a B movie in a good way....This is a complete disaster! Michael Madsen appears to really need a paycheck for appearing in this one! My very first F in the usually high standard After Dark label. AVOID!!!!

Where did this movie get it's 5 star rating? It is just awful! Bunch of kids do magic mushrooms in a cave, wander down path that is 9 gates of hell and wonder why they come to grief? Were the filmmakers on magic mushrooms too? Most of the film is just kids getting smashed, throwing up and putting cigarette buts in their puke! I wanted to like this film as I like to give low-budget first attempts a chance, but this was just rubbish! The movie title Toad Road about an urban myth trail sounded promising, but there is no horror to be had at all. Even it's modest 75 minute running time could not save it from becoming boring and I fully advise to give this one a miss.
