Blunder (2006)
David Mitchells Darkest Hour
I've watched 2 episodes of this thing and Mr. Mitchell seems to be carrying it along (perhaps with the help of Rhys, I liked him in the fast show so he can do funny).
the rest however is utter crap. It makes me wonder just how much the audience are being paid to laugh like that.
as for "The Baron" it got old after 2 seconds of seeing the stupid sod run around flailing his arms. Seems obvious that since channel 4 struck it lucky with Russel "IM REALLY NOT AT ALL FUNNY" Brand's method of coming on stage, flailing his arms about and talking utter rubbish that other people (for example, the baron character... who closely seems to resemble brand, in both looks and awful performance) need to take on this "alternative humour" style in order to make a Friday night show.
channel 4 used to rule Friday nights for the majority of the nation but recently, their lineup only seems to be interesting when the Simpsons is on, other than that most people switch off.
hopefully this will be the first and only series of this god awful "comedy" show and channel 4 will perhaps learn their lesson and never create such crap again and go back to the days of making GOOD television
The Phantom of the Opera (2004)
not bad, not bad at all
I have to say it really isn't a bad film, directing was good, storyline was good, acting was good and the singing was somewhat interesting. now musicals aren't my cup of tea and under normal circumstances i would not have watched this film, all in all what I'm trying to say is this film can only be described as a "take your girlfriend to go see this" type of film. if she liked it at all, take her, if you liked the music, go see it, if you like Jenifer Ellison, go see it. whatever floats your boat. You probably wont know many of the actors but even then, they make good performances in all the parts. I myself am now a fan of Mr. Webbers work as apparently (according to my girlfriend, big fan of the play) the movie matches and in some points betters the play.
Blade: Trinity (2004)
Ah well I guess
where do i begin with this film? i found it neither impressive nor boring. I will admit i found the story interesting but i found a lot of flaws in the characters. for example the king character was the comic relief of the film, but at most times i found him annoying and extremely unfunny. Abigail, your typical "shes hot and kicks ass" female role, i found it all too samey with her, i could conjure up countless amounts of characters who i felt she could possibly live on the same bandwagon as (trinity, alice from resi, electra from daredevil the list goes on) also her addiction to MP3's i found was just product placement for ipods and i found it extremely annoying the way the film highlighted her putting her earphones on, every... frikkin... time! Snipes as usual made blade a kickass character, decent dialogue, great acting, i found no problems with him at all. the appearance of HHH in the film was an interesting twist but i found his acting rather wooden at times and wouldve preferred it if he went all badass wrestler more often in the film rather than just saying F*ck in every line.
overall i found it an average film. nothing too special, go see it with some mates if you want something to do. otherwise, leave it out and go take your girlfriend to see phantom of the opera.
