Gulmohar (2023)
It's Okayish, but huge success from Hindi movies standard.
It's nothing great, it's only different and has a touch and vibe of Kapoor and sons...
Okayish but a huge leap from Hindi movie perspective...
Since Hindi movie industry's current state is in doldrums.
Suraj Sharma is good, and veterens like amol & sharmila has a calming presence.
Manoj is as usual exquisite in his role, effortless as they say but his character is always pissed his son, so it's one dimensional in a way.
Simran's character was a revelation but short.
All other character are just fillers.
Tamil character maid is unnecessary addition.
So many cliched character sketches and situations.
But it's a good watch for hopeless Hindi movie industry.
Christopher (2023)
Poor Movie with Mammootty and Extended Cameos.
It's a poor and bad script and everyone doing it for sharing screen with Mammootty.
It can't be termed as a fiasco, since it's a dated story with too many cameos, this trend started after Gold directed by Alphonse Puthran.
In certain scenes even Mammootty doesn't seemed interested his expressions were bland (May be he sensed the complete blunder in writing but agreed due to some old commitments to the duo
).
But the stalwart has his moments.
The antagonist seemed complete miss cast.
Amala tries harder but the script was poor.
BGM and cinematography were good.
Thank God there are no songs.
Ariyippu (2022)
What was it about? A serious retrospect.
The weakest movie in Mahesh Narayanan helmed list of movies.
The way it started it was refreshing to see some prominent actors from doordarshan serials doing the act with there natural presence.
But, still the angle of jealousy has been overdone.
The character sketch of both lead were confusing and unengaging.
Half baked concept had very strong view point initially, but couldn't be baked to perfection.
For performances, certainly its Divya prabha. Her natural acting was commendable.
Kunjacko boban was good in certain scenes.
Delighted to see lovleen Mishra, kannan arunachalam of the golden era of Indian television๐
Overall poorly conceptualized.
Disappointed....
Modern Love: On a Serpentine Road, With the Top Down (2021)
Very Boring
Kya bakwas hai bhaai....
It's very bad and mushy and looks very dated...
Season 01 was way ahead and captivatingly good.
It's pretty boring to least say.
Minnie looks misfit for this role.
Modern Love Mumbai: Raat Rani (2022)
Don't know what shonali was high on...
This was no where's going road...
Definately a charsi writer .....
Very poorly written...
Sana was ok..
But there was nothing going..
What was the point of the whole thing...
The Northman (2022)
Pure Wow___Epicness Rediscovered
Wow....
What a movie....the brooding bgm and pure facination for musculanity with which the story has been told is a sight to behold...certain scenes specially the epic fight is standout.
Special mention to performance of Alexander Skarsgard is phenomenal.
Kuruthi (2021)
Mamukoya is the protagonist, the narrator, holds the entire movie.
Mamukoya, the veteran actor delivers his career best performance, rest cast follows him.
Wow, what a movie in this testing times..
Kudos to fellow malayali director to bring about a change in.
A must watch for the change which is malayalam movie industry, churning out back to back thought provoking topics.๐๐พ๐๐
I Care a Lot (2020)
Promises but eventually fades and stinks.......
Such array of talents, but it's such sheer waste of talent and eventually of time we spent seeing it....
Stay away.... Rosamund pike and she is way overhyped....so is the horrible actress that is Eiza Gonzร lez Reyna...wafer thin script....
Big let down๐๐๐ป
Please skip it.
The Virtuoso (2021)
Half Baked....
The Movie plot had many holes, only grace was Anthony Hopkins performance, fresh from his recent academy win. Was looking forward to it.
But, eventhough there was a slight chance of making it into a gripping take deception and revenge. It was unsatisfying to say the least that the protagonist was too smart yet gets outsmarted in the end...
Either way the movie could've been a moving story.
Half baked:/
Joji (2021)
A Disturbing Account of a Criminal Mind
As I said it's a very intense and disturbing account of a twisted and sadistic mind, which won't stop at any cost. Fahad continues his paranoid character from "kumbalangi nights" but this time around his more nuanced in terms of emotions and the expressions are more refined.
The director has a unbeaten view of a household...and that slow piano BGM is haunting as hell. And adding to that Baburaj who played jomon is a welcomed in the dark world of Dileesh pothan cinematic world. He is astoundingly refreshing in his role. Such a breath of fresh air. Shami thilakan as manipulative doctor is convincing. And rest of the cast are amazing too. Special mention of Unnimaya Prasad as oppressed bincy is subtle and natural.
It has a unpleasant feeling.. and that's a compliment of watching a superior movie experience...
Congrats to all involved.....and not mentioning Fahad Fazil is understatement since he is the movie, he holds you to the pinnacle of all human emotions.... in this case the vision of Dileesh pothen....take bow you both.๐๐
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
Worth of every Accolades_DC WORLD
Incredibly different take on JUSTICE LEAGUE.....
I guess now DC has outgrown itself from other comic World...love the way Snyder gave cyborg long overdue screen time and he has shined like a diamond.
Flash is quirky and funny and holds the scenes in the end of the movie...it's not long but worthy to be taken notice and time spent on.
Snyder has raised the bar, wish it had released on big screen and please take note that it's far better then Marvel's AVENGER ENDGAME...
Certainly it's par with the above mentioned marvel installment.
Halal Love Story (2020)
A Simple yet very Refreshing take๐
A beautiful story woven around simple people.. creates a refreshing impact. Though it seemed a wafer thin story line but director got the grip tighten post interval. The similarity between "Sudani from Nigeria" is striking since the directors take on human relationship has been the forte of this movie as well. Special mention of the growth of sharfuddin as an actor is awe inspiring.
Rest of performances by the supporting cast is commendable to.
Wind River (2017)
False Ratings...don't bother seeing it.
Unnecessarily highly rated..don't see any reason to be such ratings...very boring at times..๐
True Memoirs of an International Assassin (2016)
Kevin James
Very good & enjoyable movie, concept is very funny. There is no dull moment in there to point out.
