Shootout at Wadala (2013)
Hindi movies on the comeback trail in terms of storyline?
My second good Hindi movie in a week. Although John Abraham is not a good actor, he has done well in this movie. The storyline has been gripping mostly although it drops off at several places. Anil Kapoor, as usual has turned in a good performance. The movie direction is good and the setting seems compatible with the 1980s. Although Shootout at Lokhandwala was a much better movie, this movie has at least tried to live up to the expectations. Hindi movies, of late, for someone who is more interested in storyline and message, seems to be turning round the corner. Aurangzeb is the other good one of the recent past, probably better than this movie. SAW is worth watching once.
Aurangzeb (2013)
Good movie
My second good Hindi movie in a week. Prithviraj has done a good job in this movie. Not having had a great success in Malayalam because of the presence of several superstars there, I think Prithviraj may do well in Bollywood because of his personality and proper Hindi accent and much better acting skills than most superstars in Hindi. The storyline is definitely gripping and shows the quirky world of corruption that we live in that has no panacea. Anupam Kher, Jackie Shroff, although have minor roles have contributed their bit. Arjun Kapoor has got ways to go, especially with his acting skills but seems mature and capable of doing so.
