A different kind of decorating show..
1 February 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Many decorating shows have come and gone and for the most part...pretty forgettable. But there's something about this show that makes my channel surfing stop every time. Whether it be the personable host, or the quirky designers. Which by the way are all perfectly stereotyped, but lovable just the same. Though the home owners themselves appear to be scripted in what they say. It's all about the amazing transformations that occur, usually on a rather limited budget. Some of the home owners in the series are rumoured to have eventually decided not to sell their homes. This show is a fun half hour leaving you waiting for another episode each time.

where in the world is Rachael Ray?
2 March 2006
Rachael ray takes us to the hottest, sometimes expensive, sometimes not.. places on the planet. It takes food and travel to another level. Though the show itself is centered around food it also serves as a tourist guide. Comparable to her other show "$40 a day" but with a lot more money to spend. Rachael is funny, personable and though sometimes annoying...you can't help but like her when shes meeting people and exploring places many of us have never been but would love to see. I love this show for two reasons.. one, it's fast paced and fun.. and two Rachael is much like the annoying friend...great to be around...but gets annoying after a couple of hours.

The Thirsty Traveler (2002–2011)
Where do you want to drink today?
6 February 2006
Kevin Brauch takes us on an international joy ride. From one corner of the globe to the other. The funny and relatable brauch is the drinking buddy we always wanted. Want to know where they make vodka, how ice wine is made, what wine goes with what or how big a stout can really get? Experience unique food styles and meet the people and places that shape the different cultures and drinking nooks that make up our world. This show is fun, informative and refreshing compared to some of televisions boring, mundane "you could watch on mute and solely watch for the imagery" traveling show's of today. I particularly love when he enters a new town and raises his stein. Cheers.

Chef at Home (2004– )
"My recipe...cooking..without a recipe"
6 February 2006
Smith takes us into his home, tells us to live life in the kitchen without recipes and to not be afraid to experiment. We learn how to shop for things such as the perfect pepper or spices and even the difference between sugars and how to find the perfect kitchen utensil. We get to meet Smith's friends, child and wife. And get to delve into what I think is the most organized kitchen I've ever seen..Smith is funny and personable. Cooks meals that even his young son can enjoy. I love the little touches this show brings and you get the sense of what Micheal may be like if he were entertaining a timid neighbor and showing them how to brave their kitchen….

Home Delivery (2004–2005)
Obviously planned Deliveries...bad acting...and in some cases a tear jerker
18 July 2005
Home Delivery is one of those shows that you love or hate, Home Delivery (through a letter or other means) are contacted and the hosts surprise either the one that wrote the letter or the person or people mentioned in the letter and help them somehow. Through watching a few episodes i found that i was annoyed by the hosts. I'm not sure who had the worst acting...the hosts or the people being dealt with. The everyday folk that are being featured are one thing. But over dramatic hosting is so "REALITY TV"..OK OK i know its supposed to be reality TV. But it would of been refreshing to see a reality based show...be? I dunno real. This like its counterparts are great to watch when nothings on. I was touched by some of the episodes...a girl gets a new glass eye because it keeps falling out...to a young mother getting her sauce marketed so she can further help to raise her kids.A young boy gets a new ear because he was born without one.Such sad stories with what seems to be happy outcomes.

G-Spot (2005–2009)
you're in your 30's did a whole bunch of b movies now what?
22 June 2005
Brigitte Bako plays "Gigi" an aging actress and aging you know what that means in Hollywood.....you're over 30. She starts a movie career at around age 19 and does b-movies to support her parents. Gets too far into it to get out and only gets b-movie type roles. Fast forward 13 or 14 years later. Gigi goes back to Canada (her home and native land) and cares for her ailing mother who eventually dies. Goes back to Hollywood and tries to make sense of it all. We see Gigi go on auditions, go on bad dates and along the way meet and get to know her friends. This has a "Hollywood style trash --Sex and the City-- vibration" about it...IE: a girl and her friends whine about sex and their lives and get drunk along the way.…The comedy aspect of the show is a little bland and predictable. But I watched pretty much all the episodes in a row and didn't find myself bored at all. So if you miss Sex and the City, love underdog stories and are in need of some serious "girlfriend" time. G-spot is for you. Enjoy :)

Ambush Makeover (2003–2005)
Bad acting...fake ambushes...great make overs
13 June 2005
Ambush Makeover takes what some make over shows would do in an hour and does two in 30mins. Many different hosts swarm the streets of small town to big town America and find those that they feel need a make over. Some are polite about it, others aren't so polite. With styling blurbs... bad acting...obviously planned ambushes and some impressive makeovers Ambush Makeover is mildly entertaining and it's a great in between show when you're waiting for your favorite show to come on. Who said you can't make someone feel better about themselves with a new dress...hair and make-up done and their 15 minutes ((literally))of fame.
