Ming yat zin gei (2022)
Unexpectedly the worst Villain Sci-fi ever
I was expecting the movie to be great since Louis Koo, Ching Wang Lau, and Carina Lau were the main role in the movie.
However, the appearance of those big HK stars weren't for the best. The plot sucks. How could you let the main culprit in the action to still act on his own will? Someone should have tried beating him or at least let him to be out of control of anything right?
And then, some classic tense moments with the evil monsters were too dull, lacking of emphasize & details on certain action. Especially the one in the end. Carina Lau is either shot dead by the main antagonist or either the other way around. If feels like there are lots of missing important details which really deteriorate the overall excitement and general logic of the movie.
In the middle part, as they successfully escaped from almost becoming the part of the "sandwich" in that huge collapsing building, they didn't even coughed a bit after such a massive amount of dust? Wtf? Also, Ching Wan Lau didn't try to escape or at least dodge or observe from far after he attempted to throw the liquid bomb? That blue gas didn't even make him faint? Oh boy....
PS: When Louis Koo fought with the robot on the climax action part near the end of the movie, it looked stupid that he's been fighting for decades with that robot and in the end he just took that car's door and chop it to the robot's head. I was like, why didn't he goddamn do that earlier? What a lame action.
I love HK movies and those great actors, I love Sci-fi, but can't relate to this one.
Ci sha xiao shuo jia (2021)
Classic Chinese Legend Story
Amazing movie.
At first it depicted the story of the legend of the devil which stays in the main character's body which would move to another body if being stabbed by means of wanting to kill. Then it goes back to the reality which shows the Aladdin Enterprise CEO who wanted to murder the entire family of his previous ex-co-founder of the business.
What makes it unique and worth watching is that the storyline feels easy to follow and understood, unlike those other thriller movie which blows the watchers' mind.
Nicely made graphic
Sivaji (2007)
Rajinikanth is THE REAL BOSS!
[***Subjective Review Alert***]
I am personally not really a big fan of Indian movies. Just so-so. But this one? Wow. It's even much better than Three Idiots!
Rajinikanth always never fail to impress me. I began to watch 2.0 at the beginning, loved his acts on 2.0, then continue watching Enthiran. Enthiran was less better than 2.0, but still, this did not hinder me to watch Sivaji - The Boss, since the rating is overally very high.
Rajinikanth is super energetic and super "Cool", despite his age which ones might argue to be an obstacles for his awesome stunts. On many scenes in this movie, I always laughed and enjoyed it everytime he mention his pet phrase "Cool", which always come after his own troll acts.
3 hours and 8 minutes, I might say this is the longest movie I've ever seen after The Caribbean, but despite the fact that the duration is very lengthy, this movie never failed to make me smile the whole time! Every acts, every unique stunts, and every song lyrics, all looks very original and not copycat at all. Although some scenes cannot be perceived by normal logic, but in overall I should say that the movie director, the story writer, the editor, and the choreographer are ostensibly the best in the country. Everyone that took part on the making of this movie are very dedicated so that they had produced such a masterpiece.
I am not an Indian, but I really could relate with the story and every scenes on this movie. This movie shall be an eye-opener and motivation for Indians and the running government as well.
At last, this is BEST OF THE BEST.
TimeScapes (2012)
Soothing art!
This compilation that lasts for approx. 40 minutes is something beyond just an ordinary movie! Filled with vivid graphics and grandiose background music which really soothed me like a boose! I'd be honest that this movie works like a melatonin boost before you sleep.
However, it would be perfect if there were less repetitive scenes which literally re-appeared for uncountable times! If the repetitiveness only happened in the beginning, then if should be fine, but it occurred through the whole part of this short movie.
And, yes, just like what somebody mentioned there in the review section as well, this story lacks the touch of a story. If just a nice story is included, then it might have been better. BUT, I shall be honest that if a "bad" story is added to this already masterpiece of work, some seemingly nagging critics out there might as well rate the movie bad just because the story looks like something they've seen before.
Ji yi da shi (2017)
Great images and story line, but lack of nice correlation
I always love most of Huang bo's movies. Understand Chinese very well and English as well, watched it in bilingual sub, but still found the storyline very confusing.
In the end that senior police officer sounded like "Okay, I was gonna put it to and end, and that's it". The whole crime story was not retold again, and the cover-up plan was not re-narrated by the real culprit. I carefully followed the story, tried my best to get into the story, but till that police appeared somehow to be the real culprit, I was TOTALLY puzzled. Why did he do that? What was the purpose? Was he the lovers of that woman or the best friend of that kid? Or perhaps both?
Yep, he was the one who picked up the kid from the school everyday, but he didn't re-tell people in the end. And the purpose also not mentioned. Helping a friend to do a murder is of course must be backed with some solid trigger, otherwise someone won't do it.
So, to make it short, it's a nice story, nice graphics, acting, and some small parts inside the storyline, but the ending lack of a crucial touch which confused most people.
PS: I have watched more than 900 movies and still got confused in the end after watching this, so I believe I'm not alone.
Død snø 2 (2014)
Hate the ending
I like the concept, it's somehow unique and no other film have ever use this kind of zombie style. And for the zombie arm, that's quite interesting. But what crashes everything up is the bad ending. What the hell? Having sex with zombie? jeez.. that's the creepiest thing ever.. Back to the real expectation. First, after I see the graveyard, okay, he will summon all of his family members that already died, but it turns out to be the only the girlfriend being waken up. And then the other thing, the police is just like side actor, which actually should also come up to the ending. The police should at least show up in the ending where finally they will know the all reason why everything has happened and will consider that Martin is not the criminal. The police just act like intermezzo to the film which is very disappointing.
The other thing is, those are the Nazi army, and why do they speak Norway to their own kind. Doesn't it sounds really not real?
Well, for the guts, damn, that's too violent I guess. Just if I have no enough guts to watch this, perhaps I would have been throwing up already.
In conclusion, I was expecting something better for the ending.
Maximum Conviction (2012)
Some non-sense and too bastard
why Manning don't want to snatch the gun from those intruders? And then after that they said their gears are so limited. Next they kill those intruders, but still, they even didn't snatch any rifles from those dead. Such a non-sense.
Those bastard do not really have to cut the fingers for him to help them, didn't he already said that he want to help them already? But he still cut his fingers. Even then, on the camera room, this man hit that guy that already had his finger cut. Why not say it properly? He can explain. I know those man are the protagonist, but he really don't need to do that to get the information. Hangin' the gun upon his head is already enough I think, of even by giving threat with the trigger.
Pretty disappointed that Steven Seagal is now much fatter than his past golden times.
