Willard (2003)
Great movie for rat people!
I think this movie is a wonderful movie for rat people like me. Those who do not like rats will be more focused on the human characters, but there is also a lot going on with the rodent characters as well. As I watched the movie the first time, I immediately felt for Ben. The movie is said to be about Willard and his odd connection with the rats, but there seems to be a sad story behind Ben as well. I think it is evident that Ben is extremely jealous of Socrates. He wants to be loved and receive attention as well. I think it is rather rash of Willard to cast Ben aside and treat him differently. I think Willard, being so short of friends anyway, could have found it possible to love both Socrates and Ben. I feel it is Ben's jealousy that drives most of the behaviors of the colony of rats into happening.
Like I said, this is a wonderful movie for rat people. Me and my pet rat, Luther, lay in bed and watch his favorite movie every Friday night (it may be a fact that rat people don't have much for social lives).
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
Best out yet
I think this was the best Harry Potter movie they've put out yet. There is only one thing that I didn't like about this movie. That was the scene where Harry's name is shot from the Goblet of Fire. In that scene, Albus Dumbledore catches the piece of paper and says Harry's name, but then he yells it as if he is angry with Harry. And, though he might be, I feel this scene contradicts the personality that J.K. Rowling has created for Dumbledore. Not once in any of the books released so far has Dumbledore ever raised his voice to anyone. Even in the fifth book when Harry is rampaging his office after Sirius's death, Dumbldore does not yell. I found it a bit disturbing when the character I had come to know through reading the books took such a drastic change in the movie. Dumbledore has always been described has having patience, and even Harry gets upset with how calm he can be.
Zoboomafoo (1999)
cute show
I used to watch it every day! That's a little embarrassing because I am 21 now, and this was only about a year or so ago. Anyway, all the animals are so cute and there are lots of interesting facts which make the show interesting for adults, even though it is aimed at children. I think my favorite part is when Zoboomafoo comes along and describes an animal that he's seen. I alway try to beat him to the punch and guess the animals before he finishes describing them and the little cartoon picture is complete of the animal. However, some things do get tedious for adults. I mean, how many times do you have to open a closet and have everything fall on your head before you either learn not to open it, or clean it up?
Gallavants (1984)
Great movie!
When I was younger, Gallavants was my favorite movie. I could watch it over and over. The characters had amazing and detailed personalities and they seemed to come alive. I think the best part about the movie is that these characters face issues of their own that real people cannot experience. This lets the characters provide lessons in friendship and ways to deal with problems, and even a bit of optimism, but the children don't need to worry about experiencing the same problems and being afraid as they might in a movie with real-life situations. Although, I remember asking my mom where my ca-bump was. All together, with realistic characters, good songs, and memorable events, this is a wonderful movie. Unfortunately, not many video stores carry it anymore.
