Blue Jasmine (2013)
Oooh...debilitating
As a film an entertainment, very sad & depressing. As a infotainment it provides a very clear message on the need for prudence & patience in one's life. Cate Blanchett was soaked in character, the other one i liked similarly was that Julia Roberts & Meryl Streep's riveting performance in August: Osage County & Matthew McConaughey in Dallas Buyers Club.
Jasmine screwed up, tried to come up from the pit without loosing her value systems & beliefs, found her last straw - but it was like "fate" haven't had enough - slipped it, tried to find comfort through family again - but everyone had there own thing, Even in the streets comfort wasn't found.
Even though it was jasmines story we could see a side story of Gingers too with a hypnotic message which implies "Change is bad" - Clever Allen.
Truly a sad story though, I don't know if anyone would find joy rather than to suppress there own "personal" sorrows by pointing fingers at Jasmine's life & smirk. Well it was a gutsy move by the producers.
A Woody Allen signature or the silent mockery could be seen across the script like the character names, the daily dynamics...(that's the fun)etc.
La migliore offerta (2013)
Mesmerizing
This was a film that made me sit through, even though the content was uninspiring - the presentation had this mesmerizing touch. Curiosity & the deep call of Love made Virgil flip. I don't know why, after seeing this film it reminded me of The Woman in Black, the way it made me to look were the film was guiding too... like a child.
Geoffrey Rush was a soaked in character in this & Donald Sutherland subtle acting added more character. Characters provide for Sylvia Hoeks and Jim Sturgess were well put, the mysterious women & the innocent mechanic.
Wasn't too fond of the ending, but the film as whole if considered as a art, it stands there well with a slight stroke of corniness.
Nevertheless a good film, that provides a silence to reach your hands to a good glass of wine.
Grey's Anatomy: Get Up, Stand Up (2013)
A Shonda Ride :D
Great episode, culmination of many open ended plots.
Well the mind behind this is really twisted - its actually a ride.
Ventilation, Breakdown, Coming back - all are visualized/ or plastered more unremittingly natural through out.
Human behavior isn't always pretty & of ups - but a row through the stormy ocean, and growing strong while on this ride but without killing the loving & nurturing heart.
&
at times _hit happens, but the more stronger we go forward.
Well to come up with 10 lines is feeling hard without indulging about the plot, but the least with this review - I don't want to - I think that marks the signs of an amateur review or as a budding reviewer who needs to put his noggins in the mill to churn out more.
Girl Most Likely (2012)
Okayish Film - If you are appreciative do see, otherwise....dunno
A flimsy promotion of the idea that - if you cant make it in the top cream, make it with what you have from where you are in the best possible way & sure "it will turn out out good".
It did have comedic elements but overall tone was a bit gloomy & a bit serious - That affects the vitality of the story.
The element of seriousness was needed, but i don't think it was given the right treatment that would make the audience sit through.
There are some AFV sort of clips that would make you laugh, other than that i didn't get anything much from it.
The film did have a American Dad's Stan Smith sort of character - The George Bush - Well that makes the turn in Climax.
Anger Management (2012)
Dear Charlie, Respons to "Charlie Gets the Party Started"
It was so sorrowful to see this episode revive in the "Old Charlie" Show. Getting drunk and promotion of such lifestyle wasn't the one that held the fan group for you earlier, but the crude brilliance and quirkiness to get out from any fix in the most bizarre, funny and yet logical way that was the stuff that attracted the audience. And with being in the role of a Counselor cum Psychotherapist there is a lot of scope for explorations, just ask the writers to start reading DSM and formulate instances lightly, that could precipitate the funny side of the issues, people who utilizes it and people who gets on with it.(Don't go seriously as you guys did with Sam in the first episodes - there was no fun, but sympathy) For E.g Paranoia can be done nicely done and i would say, bring in actors like Robin Williams for 1or 2 sessions for revving up.
And some observations The Ex-Wife character, always appears as if stoned - but in this episode it was bit more improved, like at instances somebody had a switch to electrocute her.
The Nolan character could be improved, it is always dull - could add social phobia as a associated behavioral pattern with bouts of depression.
Other characters also could be pumped up in character profiles, but this two must see a change.
Then if you guys plan to bring back the current ex-girlfriend, it would be nice if she could be fit rather than being thin. Some episodes shows her like a ghostly figure, the frailty was so evident. But good acting.
Roles of your Father, Histrionic Lacey's current roles and Daughter's(Current role could be explored into a bad-ass form and into the dynamics between father and daughter) are good.
It is okay to a certain extent to show the womanizers normal day to day issues with a friend acting as a buffer. But i think that is the limit where the fun part ends. Showing more skin just for it isn't fun(It is like Alan's disgusting coloca jokes and being naked just for the sake of it - as seen in the last episodes of two and 1/2 men) And i personally think at this point the vitality of a alpha-male character with its force and baseball/drunkard wisdom could be updated into your character profile.
2 and 1/2 men has lost its edge with you gone, they have pitched various ideas only 2 or 3 structural inputs really worked and they tried hard too. Don't know how it will unfold in the next season, But every former fan of 2 & 1/2 men really misses you.
I hope you or somebody in your team sees this and gives a swirl with this.
And i saw the latest jay Leno interview, come on man - what ever is personal keep it as such, be just the entertainer that you are, on TV. I would say a "Cat only needs once to know the uneasiness of water".
