Homicide: Life on the Street (1993)
Best TV show ever period!!!!!
Homicide was the best show of any genre to be made for television. It honestly gave the most detailed and truthful accounts about how criminal investigations really happen. It also touched on the personal lives of how many police officers live and how they deal with the daily grind of the job. I say this because I've been in law enforcement for 7 years and I know how things really happen. Homicide puts the truth in crime TV....all crimes don't get solved overnight or at all sometimes. Homicide touched on that very point in different episodes. It was a show that TV executives should have just let it run it's natural course. It was taken off the air well before it's time!!!
She Hate Me (2004)
Another good film from Spike!
This was actually a very good film. A well written script, however, some of the acting could have been better. After watching this film I now understand why people don't like Spike Lee. The reason being is that his movies are not sugar coated. They hit on real issues that people don't like to acknowledge: Racism, Sexism, Sexuality, Interracial Relationships, Corruption, Greed, the list can go on! People don't like to see how America really is, and when you put it on the big screen people just want to reject what they really already know about this country. We are a society that thinks we're better than others, but when we get a chance to look at our own shortcomings we don't like it! I believe that Spike tries to do this in all of his films! You may not like what I've just said, but all I can say to that is the truth hurts!
