The Presence (2010)
Excellent film and intriguing concept.
Please do understand that this is a film for the open-minded free thinker. If you're the type of person who only accepts over-sexualized imagery, bright flashing colors, unnecessary loud sounds, shameless product placement, and needless subliminal intrusion, then this film is not for you.
If, however, you are the type who enjoys unique concepts expressed in a simple, uncluttered, direct manner, then you may appreciate this film.
It has beautiful scenery, good original music, and good acting. It is well done, and the message is well expressed.
I highly recommend this film.
Dead of Night: The Exorcism (1972)
A simple, but well delivered story
'DEAD OF NIGHT: The Exorcism' begins unsuspectingly and the characters are developed nicely for their purposes down to the end of the film. The dark atmosphere is prominent from the beginning, but the viewer doesn't know where the tale is going to lead or what to make of it until they are witnessing the events themselves through a touching and emotional ocean of words. Each actor does a fine job and they are all equally engrossed and believable. The over all tale is perfectly creepy and Anna Cropper does an excellent job delivering her chilling lines, which is the climax of the movie. A very nice film for those who respect older horror movies and slow paced, but worthy stories.
The Invisible (2007)
Poignant excellency from start to finish.
The Invisible is certainly one of the most superbly thought out and well acted films I've seen in a long time. The casting was perfect, every character was well developed and the actors played their roles wonderfully. I was surprised at the low rating this movie got here on IMDb. 6 stars doesn't do it justice at all. I give it 10. This movie is for those who enjoy thought provoking films that pick your brain, but do not leave you confused and wondering about the meaning behind certain elements. This film lays it all out on the table and shows everything for what it is. It has funny moments, drama, and suspense. Very good chemistry between the characters gives it all the more impact. I'd recommend this movie to anyone. It keeps you captivated at every turn. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will undoubtedly enjoy The Invisible.
I Pity the Fool (2006)
This show is rough and ready. I'm impressed.
I like Mr. T's attitude and the fact that this personality and icon is doing a reality show in the first place. I like the people he's helping out, I like the honesty, I like the frustration, and I like it when they come together in the end. This show is good and pretty entertaining, especially compared to that other TvLand Original DISASTER a.k.a. "Alf's Hit Talk Show". That was probably the worst show. Ever. In TV history. So TvLand certainly did well with this show, in light of their other failed attempts at "Orignal" entertainment.
Anyway, this show is raw entertainment. To deal with, Mr. T is given pretty crappy, lazy, pathetic excuses for human beings. He makes the best out of what he's got to work with and in the end, it comes out relatively well. It's not always perfect and there's no guarantee these idiots are going to maintain their new MO. But there's the hope that they will. That's ultimately what makes the show a Reali-T. It gets my stamp of approval.
