I have had memories of this movie for as long as I can remember. I have asked so many people if they remember it at rental and movie specialty stores. Sadly no one does. I however have the premise engraved in my mind two small two deputies stumble onto a drug deal gone bad. The two men are faced with a choice, morals are questions and things get complicated as they always do. The is full of great supporting characters portrayed by Peter Coyote and Roma Maffia. I finally found it after watching "Twin Peaks" and recognizing the actor. Thank God for IMDb and I was able to order it from Amazon. It was worth every penny, please do yourself a favor and check it out.

Finest Film About Heroes I've seen in years.

I have just seen the film for the first time. Now is not the best time for me to write this, yet I feel compelled to. However, I have been left speechless. I will say this was the biggest surprise of the year. I knew it was a blockbuster, but I had no idea how powerful it would be. I can only say everyone should see this film. There has been a question that few people know the answer to. The question came in the light more than ever before while America was reflecting on the loss during September 11th. Why are some people willing to run into a burning building, while other people are running out? This film is an attempt to answer that question. "Courage is not the absence of fear, but the knowledge that there is something more important than fear."

A film with an interesting concept, that simply fails to perform. Do not get me wrong, Gandolfini delights as a federal agent, and Bardem plays a convincing killer. However, a significant portion of the dialogue is in Spanish, and even more of it is incomprehensible. The version I viewed had quite poor sound quality, with a large variant of volumes from background music to the kind that forces you to drop the volume to a quarter of where it needs to be to understand the characters. All in all the film, did poor service to David Lynch's "Wild at Heart," from which two of its characters are taken. However, at $5.00 (Walmart) it is hard to go wrong with a film, especially if you like any of its actors.
