Chilangolandia (2021)
Not worth your time
Boring, full of cliches, bad writing, too many common places and bad acting. This movie seems completely detached from reality. The characters in this movie act so stupidly that the writer had to keep adding them so the plot could advance. On the bright? Side is that the movie looks cheap. So there wasn't too much money spend on doing it. Feels like some sort of rendition to an eighties and nineties movie genere called "cine de ficheras" without the "R" rated content, just the bad jokes and terrible photo direction.
Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)
Nostalgia is killing the classics
Why is Kid Cuddy in this movie acknowledging he'll become part of history and you can't even hear him sing on the final song? Why should I watch a final act that seems as an Ableton ad? Why they couldn't spend some money on a truly amazing song for the ending? My bet is there just wasn't enough money for all of that.
I felt so sorry for every one in there. The direction was terrible. Watching the trailer made me think the actresses where perfect for the roles because of their resemblance to Bill and Ted and of course because of their previous roles, but god... they where soooo bad in here.
The story is a joke, but you couldn't spect much with the previous ones as reference. I felt I needed the guidance of Rufus, that cameo was so disappointing.
The green screen was sooo obvious, I just felt it made the whole movie esthetic feel even cheaper.
And finally, the nega-versions where just a terrible pretext to keep the plot moving.
I keep feeling sorry for all the women out there who want to watch more empowering original roles. These felt as if the original script was made thinking Bill and Ted had sons, not daughters.
Please, don't spend your time in this money grabbing nostalgia movie. It's better is you watch the first two. The sets and puppets in there are amazing.
Sure Thing (2015)
Nodal points mania
A Pavlovian bell that makes the viewer take for granted certain decisions made in the story. Great craft, the script is top notch and it's very nice to find a world of possibilities in such a short time, making keen observations of the proper universe this short is living at. Thank you amazon prime for bringin this little movie into a collection called modern/love.
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
Show, don't tell
Why does every character has to tell me what to see, think or feel almost on every scene? Did George Lucas though people wouldn't understand the plot? I mean, one of the main ideas of writing a script is "show, don't tell". Some times I can't believe how dumb these Jedi's seem to be. I thought they were one with the force... I remember loving the huge Jedi fight almost at the end, but now seems pointless and out of the blue. Oh, well. Surely plenty of fans will keep loving it. It's good if you're not really watching it and you just use it as background noise, that way you won't feel like you've lost two and a half hours of your time. Thank you Amazon Prime for that. Most of the action scenes still feel entertaining and maintain the tension, but you've got to endure for that. I miss George Lucas' obsession in making better cuts every certain time, because many times the CGI doesn't hold very well, some scenes have this video game texture and others you have the feeling the actors aren't in those scenarios. Flea jumping Yoda still makes me chuckle. A 00's kid classic.

HairBrained (2013)
Don't watch unless you like to get bored or want to take a nap
I'm sad to say this movie isn't worth the time or money.
It is poorly made, boring and just too dull. Alex Wolff doesn't know how to act, seems like he's trying to hard and turns plenty of sequences down by overacting.
It's a shame to see Brendan Fraser so far away from his golden years, I mean, he wasn't great but at least did good movies for his target, (George of the Jungle, Bedazzled, The Mummy) but in this try he just flopped all the way, felt totally lost and just trying to get over with it.
The script feels underwritten, the characters were like bad cartoons, just uninspired copycats of other great characters from much better movies. At some point I felt I was watching a really under-made Wes Anderson movie. I understand It's an indie film... but please don't make your work look so cheap.
No extras, impossible situations, bad acting and an underwritten script. I don't know Billy Kent and there's not much about him on IMDb... I hope at some point he can manage to do a better movie. Just don't watch it and keep your good memories about Brendan Fraser and the kid from The Naked Brothers Band.
