I like Richard Gere
7 April 2021
It won't win an Oscar but it was a nice movie. Richard looked particularly handsome. Good casting and I thought the acting was good. I would watch it again.

Houdini (2014)

Was great entertainment
11 September 2014
This movie may not have been exactly historically correct, but I really don't care. I enjoyed finding out how Houdini did his illusions. That was very interesting. Also, while I know the real Houdini was not nearly as good looking as Adrien Brody, I thought Brody did an excellent job. The fact that he is very handsome and somewhat sexy didn't hurt. The show was extremely entertaining and I look forward to a DVD. I would watch it again. It was not touted to be an accurate documentary. The History channel had another show that did that. This was a "movie" portraying Houdini's life. I enjoyed every minute of it. I was not interested in learning all about the real Houdini, I could get books if I wanted to do that. The movie did a good enough job.

One of the worst movies ever
12 May 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I love Jim Caviezel having seen him in The Passion, Count of Monte Cristo and Bobby Jones. So I thought I'd rent this movie. What a waste of time and money. And I'm so disappointed in Jim. I would love to ask him - what was he thinking? The movie was terrible. I never did understand what the purpose was. It was physically painful to see Jim smoking, drinking and cussing. He was poorly cast in this movie. And the wife was a shrew. The only bright spot in the movie was the dog and then they left her in the car! If I had seen it in the theater, I would have left worrying about what happened to the dog. This movie must have had a terrible writer and director. All of the actors should have run far away. Save your money and time. My time would have been better spent getting a root canal.

One of the best movies ever
24 March 2011
I love this movie. Yes, it has flaws, but that said, it is a great movie. It is very entertaining and that's what I want in a movie - to be entertained. I never tire of watching it. No sex, no nudity, no graphic violence, no swearing, just a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The casting is divine. Jim Caviezel is outstanding as Monte Cristo. He did a wonderful job of portraying Edmond from a bumbling young adult to a well educated and vengeance seeking adult male. Great looking actors, great scenery, romance, sword fighting - what more could you ask for? Well worth the money to rent and the time to watch (over and over again).

Worth watching

Not just a golf movie. You don't even need to like golf to enjoy this movie. The story and scenery are worth it. Jim Caviezel did an amazing job in bringing Bobby Jones to life. Although I didn't know anything about Jones, I know enough about golf to understand the importance of what he contributed to the sport. The parts were beautifully cast although Clair F is not my favorite actress (I didn't like her in Meet Joe Black), she did a fine representation of women of that era. I think Jim Caviezel is a very underrated actor and does a fine job in each part he has played. You don't see Jim, you just see the character, which to me should be the goal of a good actor. Definitely worth the money to rent and the time to watch, more than once.

Do not spend your time or money; worst movie ever
23 March 2011
The trailer for this movie looked cute and I like Jake and Anne, so I thought it would be a cute movie. They have absolutely no chemistry on screen. If you just want to see Jake naked then it's the movie for you. Otherwise it's a waste of time and money. The plot line is weak, mostly just lots of screwing. The movie really promotes Pfizer and maybe they approved of the publicity, but it does not paint Pfizer in a good light. Although from first had knowledge, this is how drug reps act. They are hired mostly for their good looks and charm. The doctor in this movie is nothing but a sleaze ball and is very unprofessional. One of the stupidest scenes is Jake, naked, but covering his privates in front of his brother (who is a major dumb ass). The best parts of this movie was shown in the trailer.
