The Trouble with Larry (1993)
Too Bad
I get the idea behind the show and as a huge fan of Bronson Pinchot and his previous show Perfect Strangers I really wanted to love this show too. Unfortunately there was really nothing to it other than "let's point a camera at Bronson Pinchot and see what funny performance stuff he comes up with"... the premise of the show was that he got lost on an island and/or in a jungle and was raised by monkeys and now he suddenly returns to civilization and it's really wacky because he's a jungle man now. I don't mind the zany and thin premise but there just was not enough to build a show on here. It's unfortunate.
The Lobster (2015)
Tedious
It's original, I'll give it that. Unfortunately I want more out of a movie than that. John C. Reilly is pretty much totally wasted in this and the movie is really weird just for the sake of being really weird. I hate leaving a theater feeling like my time was deliberately wasted like this.
Perfect Strangers (1986)
Great Sitcom
This was a hilarious sitcom and the performances of Bronson Pinchot and Mark Linn-Baker in this buddy comedy are top notch.
The Shakespeare Comedy Show (2006)
Underwhelming
This was a good idea for a comedy show but they just didn't execute it very well. There were some good actors but also some very bad ones, and the writing was bland and stupid. It also just looked kind of cheap.
The Nut Job (2014)
Standard Cartoon For Kids
This is a fun movie and kids will enjoy it but it's not great like some other animated movies and it does not have as much as those great cartoons have going for them as far as entertainment value and jokes for the adults.
The two main squirrels should have looked less similar as the kids sometimes seemed confused so far as which squirrel was doing what or when they were talking together.
Will Arnett is very funny and we loved his voice, such a unique and throaty voiced guy.
I would recommend it but no need to rush to see it at the movies, wait for it on DVD, cheaper and you won't be missing anything not seeing it on the big screen.
Frozen is better for sure!
28 Days Later... (2002)
Very Good, Not A Zombie Film
This is a good movie but it is not a "zombie movie" which is how my friends described it to me, I guess knowing that I am a zombie horror movie genre nut. The movie starts when environmental terrorists break into a lab that contains diseased monkeys who have been exposed to a so called "rage virus". When they break the monkeys out the monkeys attack them and when one of them escapes the virus is on the loose and it's only a matter of time before it engulfs England and then the rest of the world presumably.
Cillian Murphy is great as the film's hero who wakes up in a hospital (seeing this made me realize either it copied the Walking Dead comics (haven't read it so don't know for sure) or Walking Dead the TV show took the idea from 28 Days Later. It's great though and the director does a fantastic job building tension.
I don't want to give away too much but it's a very engrossing movie and I think fans of any kind of "scary" or psychological movie will enjoy it a lot. The ending also is very awesome and you're not sure what will happen or what choice the woman will make until she does it.... won't say more than that because I don't want to spoil it but you'll know what I mean at the end. Great ending, very good movie!
