Doctor Who: Fugitive of the Judoon (2020)
The fanservice is strong... but I'm completely fine with that
They hit rock bottom with S11, so whatever they try with this Series that makes me hook, I'm in for it. And even if it feels forced, it also feels natural if that makes any sense.
Returning characters and a plot twist that of couse will make sense in the finale, truly left me expecting for the rest, even if I felt "Are we really doing this?... welp, let's see how it goes"
Doctor Who: Orphan 55 (2020)
It's so bad it makes you laugh. But I wouldn't call it "So bad it's good"
Imagine someone asks a 12 year old child to write a Science Fiction story, get every cliche in the book and put it into a blender, and bam, you have this episode.
It feels like nobody knew what to do with this episode, how to give the message or what was it about. At first I got big Emoji Bot vibes, and then... everything tunrs so stupid you can't help but to laugh. Twist after twist is just a mess, you just can belive someone wrote this and thought "Yes, this is Doctor Who Material". There is even one scene that leaves you "Is Doctor Who seriously doing that kind of scene?", I mean, is not a bad message, is never a bad message, and is canon in Doctor Who, even The Mysterious Planet did it, but the way they did it was... so hillariously bad.
I miss Spyfall already, because this, while is not Season 11 bad where it was so bad it's infuriating, it's still a kind of bad that you have to watch to belive that someone pulled this off.
Doctor Who: Spyfall: Part One (2020)
Just when I lost all hope
Last season was a mess, a lot of the stories were boring and a lot of concepts were truly abyssmal. Luckily, this episode takes all the few things that worked from the last season and made it work into an episodes that does feel like Doctor Who.
It doesn't really feel like fanservice (except from the ending) like if that is the only way to say "We screwed up, we should just rewind". No, it feels like Doctor Who but it also feels like a new era ineed. There is a big mistery, a big threat, a really cool cliffhanger.
Is not perfect, there are some bad things here and there, like for example Yaz being the most plain companion in NewWho, but after two years, I finally truly enjoy what I'm watching, this is the kind of episodes I wanted for Jodie and her crew, everyone feels useful, each has their small moments to shine, and The Doctor in one episode, had, finally, more than one memorable moment.
Doctor Who: Resolution (2019)
Wasted potential, yet again. But at least it didn't "Ruined The Daleks", but ruined something else.
The Good:
The design is good for an improvised Dalek, finally a Dalek episode with a body count that makes it feel like a real threat and the idea of him possessing a human was good enough.
The Bad:
Chibnall episodes this Series were really serious, while that's not a problem itself since chaning the tone can be good, humour was truly missed time to time. However, this episode has the worst comedy of the show. Imagine the Pokémon GO joke from The Return of Doctor Mysterio, but way more cringeworthy. Another thing was the Graham/Ryan scenes, i know, i can't deny they do have a cute relationship and it was without any doubt the best part of Series 11; However, in this episode it felt like and after thought, it feels like a completely other story and it doesn't feel it goes somewhere, is a waste of time and i feel it could've been better implemented. (Ah, and Yaz is there... doing nothing... as always)... in fact, i feel it would've been better if they used one of the companions for "the climax".
Also, i have to admit i hate when they don't use the title sequence, i feel Chibs just decides not to use it to being "the different one", while failing to impress and only stands like "Oh yeah, we forgot to put it again, whoops"
The UGLY:
I don't know if it was a joke or not, if they are going to come back or what. BUT WHAT WAS THAT UNIT SCENE. Seriously, i was so angry that it was their excuse to drive the plot, that "UNIT was suspended because of Brexit and they weren't needed". That is not only a horribly plot convinence, but also one of the worst ways to introduce a change to one of the biggest entities in the history of the show, like suddenly from one season to another someone says "Yeah, Daleks are extinct, that was a crazy week." Not to mention it doesn't make any sense, UNIT Is international and has enough power to help the Doctor become president (even if that idea was stupid, still something i could say "Yeah, why not"), and didn't they have job 24/7 after the whole Zygon thing?, how comes they weren't needed?, plus, audios are now canon and we do know they have been working, so suddenly they just puff, all for the sake of a joke/plot convenience.
One of the worst thing ever written in the history of the show buried in a semi decent episode, and the exact moment i dropped Doctor Who. Before i was watching it for curiosity, to see if there was something of value there, but now is not only boring and bad written, but beyond stupid and infuriating that is just not worth it anymore. Let's see if the ratings in 2020 surpass the 5M they barely did today.
Doctor Who: The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos (2018)
An Okay Episode.... but a finale that leaves a lot to be desired
The second half of this season was enjoyable, nothing mindblowing but hey, solid 8/10s, it was better than the worse of other seasons AND the first half of this one that was filled with really bad episodes, so i hoped the same would apply for the finale, sadly it wasn't close.
The biggest problem with this episode is that is really, really okay.
How was the acting?, Okay
How were the characters?, Okay
How was the threat?, Okay
How was the reason behind the threat?... nghhh, i'll be there in a minute
How was the setting?, Okay
How was the Doctor?, Okay
How was the resolution?, Okay
The problem is, the only thing that makes this episode feel like a Finale is the internal conflict Graham has, the rest of the episode is just generic, boring, you could place it in the middle of the season and it wouldn't make any difference. And the episode has some feel of scale, but is so simple and comes out of nowhere that just feels like an after thought. Besides that, there is nothing else to take from this episode, is not a bad finale like Hell Bent or Wedding Of River Song, but is just so bland and dull to feel like a finale.
I would give this a higher score if it wasn't for the motivation behind the story, some woman belived that the evil looking dude torturing his partner was a benevolent god, like, what the hell was that?, it drove me away completely to care about the story.
I'm sorry, not even the series finale could gave the 13th Doctor something to do, something to make her shine. If anything the only one that actually felt like an actual character was Graham, everything else was just there... and that shouldn't be a Series Finale, especially compared to every single other Series finale besides the ones that i mentioned were bad.
I guess is fair giving it a 5/10 because it's the score that perfectly sums, not only the quality of the episode, but also this Season overall, only half of it has some sort of watchable value.
Change isn't bad, Doctor Who needed to change to keep fresh... But this season wasn't the way to do it, and the ratings show it, 3M viewers dropping in one season is a huge loss, and it clearly shows those numbers are not going to keep for the next season, especially if it's going to air in 2020, Christmas was replaced and this was the season finale.
Doctor Who: Kerblam! (2018)
Is light watching a light in the dark. Two good episodes in a row and this ACTUALLY felt like Doctor Who
While last week's episode was enjoyable by it's own as an historic episode, this one is a HUGE step in an underwhelming season. Still doesn't redeem it and wouldn't call it perfect, but being able to enjoy two Doctor Who episodes in a row makes me feel we haven't been in this state in years.
This is back to the basics, The Doctor vs an evil alien threat, and one that, while it isn't very original, is enjoyable to watch and have you thinking "What is going to happen next!?", and the enemies are kinda creepy too, and the twist of what's the weapon is hillarious, yet, i missed that element of "Even the smallest thing can be turned into a threat in Doctor Who", a thing that has been lost in a while, and much better executed than the "Eeevil tissue" from the second episode of the season.
And unlike last's week, this one is a real sci fi threat. I really wish we had this at the begining of the season.
Nothing mind blowing, but at least is another thing worth to watch this season.
Doctor Who: Demons of the Punjab (2018)
FINALLY, a 13th Doctor episode that i could enjoy without any "But..."
Finally, a good Doctor Who episode, with a real threat, great acting, great characters participation, great cinematography, we have some really good looking monsters after a whole season of none of them.
And most of all, finally, after 5 episodes, Jodie finally felt like The Doctor, and had a really good scene that made her shine. After 5 episodes of some jokes here an there, some flavour of her character and a lot of "wacky faces because that's the special feature of my Doctor", she became The Doctor. I always was optimistic for her, but after a dissapointing half season, i was starting to feel sorry for her, but she finally got something to do and was marvelous, might not have been as great as the greatest moments other modern Doctors had in their first 6 episodes, but is clearly a step in the right direction.
If you want to experience the best this new Doctor has to offer, watch this episode, is a must, even if this doesn't redeem the rest of the season, still the worst one so far thanks to a weak first falf, and Chibnall still is a terrible head writer, but it feels sooo good having a really good episode instead of the best i could do before was having to say "It was Okay, but..."
Maybe the biggest "But" for this episode is the message of "The real monsters are us" thing for the third time this season, but nevermind that, we had it in a good story at last, is not it's fault other episodes did it poorly, if anything it makes those episodes feel worse.
Doctor Who: The Tsuranga Conundrum (2018)
A Throwback but also a Step back
So far, this is the most Doctor Who-ish episode of the season, there was a good mistery, there was a level of sillyness of what was going on, but overall it's an episode that goes along without grief or glory.
The only cool side character gets killed very quickly, the rest is just a too dumb or too serious sub-plots to even care, and the companions ultimate feel like they are not there. This episode is like a cocoon, trying to be Doctor Who but failing to do so.
The biggest problem of this episode, as well as the rest of the season, is that Jodie hasn't given anything to do, comparing her to the other Modern Doctor Who Doctors in their respective first seasons by their fifth episode respectively, we had:
9 showing us his rage and emotional breakdown in Dalek, 10 facing an alien race king to a sword fight, 11 gaving us two amazing speeches of why we shouldn't mess with him, 12 connecting his mind with a Dalek, and then we have 13... she hasn't done anything, and is not like she can do much, her enemies have been a tooth fairy, cloth, some random regular jerk guy, another random regular jerk guy and Stitch.
This episode deserves a 7/10 for at least trying and giving back some feels of "Yeah, this is Sci-Fi, this is fun, this is intriguing, this is more likely Doctor Who", unlike last week episode that i don't know what that thing was. Change is good, but what is not good is not having direction, and so far i don't know if it is trying to be it's own thing, or is trying to be Doctor Who, for me stay with the latest because it seems that some decent story can come out from that, like this episode.

Doctor Who: Arachnids in the UK (2018)
Love and Monsters, Fear Her, ITFOTN and Sleep No More have a new friend
Without any doubt, the worst episode of the season so far, a really dumb conflict where people's reaction is just "Wait a moment... Spiders don't do that!, there is something weird around here", cringeworthy dialog like the whole kitchen scene, really bad acting from the ones that are not part of the main crew, not an actual resolution (the plot just kinda stops) and oddly enough, the episode chose to bring back one of the most annoying tropes of the RTD era, the annoying "I don't like this 'Doctor' person" mom. Also, one of the creepiest?, have we been watching the same show?
If i have to give the episode some credit, is the only episode so far into the season where Yaz doesn't feel like a 0 to the left, and Ryan and Graham share a bit more, something always nice to see, but at this point it feels like they are just repeating what they have said before and not going anywhere, that is not development, that is getting stuck, cute but, they can do better, it would eyes rolling if they keep doing this over and over until the finale where Ryan finally calls Graham grandpa.
What am i doing, i can only talk good things about one semi decent scene, it's really sad honestly, i really want to see Jodie and her companions take off, for her to finally have a cool moment where she can shine, where she can say "I am the Doctor!" and people would yell back at the screen saying "Yes!, You are The Doctor!", but Chibnall is just holding her back in lackluster stories.
While the first three episodes were between decent to good, an average of 7/10, not bad, not the best but at least they contributed a bit to Jodie's Doctor personality, and had people engaged in the serial in one way or another (The first episode thanks to being Jodie's first ride, the second one the numerous misteries, and the third one the historical value), this one just falls into cringeworthy and boring territory, a line that Doctor Who has crossed a couple of times before, and it felt right in home compared with those cases. At least the next episode has a more entertaining premise, it seems.
Bolívar: el héroe (2003)
If this doesn't save anime in any level, i don't know what does.
We have, not only what might be the best Sancocho Con Arepa Anime of all time, but we also have one of the most influential pieces of animation in general. You can say that many of the elements seen here are really a heavy part of the structure of a now days shonen, but it also takes it to another level, visiting the emotional way of a true historical event like is the story of Simon Bolivar, in an interesting point of view. We see Bolivar birth. We see Bolivar Chillhood. We see Bolivar as a Teen. And we finally see the Bolviar we all admire. It's limited animation only serves the purpose to teach us two things: -How an amazing story can be told with few resources -How we can admire every single detail with a Power Point Presentation. What some may see as a QUALITY MOVIE, i see it as a true master piece, a legacy to the anime history, to Latin American history and to the emotional history. Thanks Colombia for giving us this.
Doctor Who: Hell Bent (2015)
or Heaven Sent was really good, or this one was really bad.
Despise the divided opinion,Heaven Sent was considered by the huge majority as one of the best episodes of Doctor Who in general, and not only New Doctor Who, and i'm one of those people, and is probably my favorite episode now. So, after that, everyone was expecting a great finale, right?, we had Heaven Sent, and Gallifrey back, GALLIFREY BACK! and the episode first act was perfect... but after the second act, everything was rushed out. Yes, the feels were strong but... really rushed out. The hybrid thing, the underground thing, the Clara pulse thing, the Doctor being the one who forgets his companion thing, everything was a great concept, but really bad executed.
And what happened to Gallifrey at the end?, i mean, yes, it came back, but then everything was let out, and the Christmas Special doesn't seem to full that big hole either.
Not the worst finale, not a bad episode, just... a really big letdown.
