A Flintstone Christmas (1977)
Only one was necessary.
The Christmas episode of the Flintstones was better than this. In fact aside from that and the Flintstone Christmas Carol, the other two Flintstone Christmas episodes left much to be desired. One big problem I had was Santa Claus. If this was the stone age, and everyone was walking around in there bare feet, why wouldn't Santa Claus? Even in the Flintstone Christmas episode, the Santas didn't have any boots on. I almost saw Santa in this like Gazoo was in the Flintstones -- coming from the future into the past to deliver toys. If Fred and Barney knew what boots were (Fred says to Barney, "Grab a boot"), and didn't question why Santa wore boots or what they were, then couldn't producers have made the Flintstones and their characters wear shoes and boots, even in their TV show? Another problem I had was that Fred and Barney were supposed to deliver toys in one night and made it back for the Christmas Party. I know the sleigh was on super-speed, but even so, the party should have ended long before Fred and Barney were done. Within seconds, the gifts for several countries were delivered. Even the spoiled brat kids were annoying in waiting for Santa. Other than all these problems, it was a fine cartoon, when it ended.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964)
Brilliant, stop-motion animation
This is one of my all-time favorite Christmas specials. I enjoyed every minute of it, and it makes a person feel great about who they are, be they different or not. I think the thing that wins me over most in this is the stop-motion animation, done similarly to today's 3D computer animation. Stop-motion is more lively-looking than the simple two-dimensional drawings on paper. I like to see stop-motion as the Computer animation of the 1960's and 1970's. With the animation, the plot was good. The story behind the misfit toys were funny, although I didn't see much of a misfit in the doll with the checked dress. Still it was good enough to watch.
K-PAX (2001)
Great movie: One of my top ten best!! A+
If ever a better movie were made, it would probably just barely pass by K-PAX. This was a remarkable movie, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Kevin Spacey was perfect in his role as Prot, and had me thinking right up to the end, that he indeed was from the planet K-PAX, especially when he draws the orbital pattern of his solar system. One of the things I liked most in this movie was, except for his hypnotic state, Prot actually had a serious sound to his voice, as if an actual alien possessed Kevin Spacey's body. Playing second fiddle to Spacey was Jeff Bridges, whose character as the compassionate and curious Dr. Mark Powell was equally as good. Many good things are to be said about K-PAX, and thanks to the producers and Kevin really deserves the name Space-y because it describes his character of Prot.
