Snatched (2017)
I liked it!
I don't know much about Amy Schumer, but Goldie Hawn has a good reputation. So, I watched the movie and laughed the whole time. It was funny. "Momma." I even teared up a little during one scene. Despite the reviews, I thought it was humorous and I even liked the ending. Well done.
Maggie (2015)
Thoughtful thriller
Initially, I thought that the movie did not have that "it" factor; therefore, I did not watch beyond the beginning of the film, the first time. However, something about the characters and the storyline made me watch it again. Though I was not entranced by it, the second time around, by the end of the movie, I felt it. I felt Maggie's fear because she was changing and Schwarzenegger's love for his daughter, even as I cringed at her appearance, during her transition, and wondered what my reaction would be if something like this happened to one of my children. It made me think. It made me feel. The movie evoked different emotions in me. I felt it. I felt it and that is what a decent movie is supposed to do.
Fast & Furious 7 (2015)
Great action/thriller movie!
This was first movie in the Fast and Furious franchise that I have ever seen. I am not a Vin Diesel or Paul Walker fan or a fan of action movies. Having said all that, I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this movie! It was exciting from beginning to end and it held my attention throughout the entire movie. I laughed, jumped, cringed, and even shed a tear, at the end. I left the movie smiling, feeling good, and wanting to see it again. I was pleasantly surprised and immediately searched the internet to find all the information I could about Diesel and Walker. Any movie that captivates you and sparks your interest to the point that you feel compelled to research the characters/actors, I feel, has done a pretty good job of selling you on the storyline.
White Bird in a Blizzard (2014)
The movie focused on the struggle of a teenage girl, who had to deal with the loss of her mother, and its affect on her family, after she unexpectedly disappears.
I could not get into the movie. I did not like the characters played by anyone in the movie, so I could not get into it. I did not like the development of the story, so by the time it got to the end, though I was surprised by the ending, I did not care. The movie lacked that certain something that could really take it to the next level. I don't think the movie did proper justice to the loss the teenage girl suffered or gave enough hints about the wife's relationship with her husband, for me to care enough about either of them, even in the end. I did not cry or care one way or the other and that's not me. I easily am absorbed into a good movie and I could not do that with this movie. It definitely had potential, but it did not rise to the occasion. I did not like the movie or the way it made me feel, after watching it. I could have done without seeing it and will not see it again.
