The Burning Bed (1984)
What ever happened to Francine and her kids???
I loved the movie. I now want to read the book because I hear that it is much more detailed than the movie, of course. I was just wondering how Francine and her kids were doing since that People's magazine article in 1984. I read a little about her remarrying and the trouble her kids went through and she also. No wonder. Even though that no good Mickey was gone, there's no way you can erase 14 years of mental, physical, and emotional abuse clean. I was not surprised her life went spiraling downward. The woman, and her kids, needed continuing help in order to lead a somewhat normal life and, no doubt, she did not get it. I just wonder how she's doing today. I hope she's okay. That poor woman deserves a badge of honor or a purple heart for the war she fought for 14 years. God bless her.
The Death and Life of Nancy Eaton (2004)
Loved this movie!!!!
This movie was soooo good. Remarkably, I saw it accidentally. The movie, "Deadly Friends" with Kristy Swanson from 1986 was supposed to air, which I had already seen, so from the beginning, I knew there was a programming error. I watched and watched and watched waiting to see if they would say the real name of the movie, but Oxygen actually stated on the screen, "Now, Deadly Friends." So I had to find the name of one of the characters and google them to find out about this movie. I was amazed and saddened to find out that is was a true story. I'm glad I was going to watch a repeat of that awful movie, "Deadly Friends" or I would have never seen this. As far as the death penalty if he was in the States, I guess it depends on which state he was in. Texas? He's a goner.
Flowers in the Attic (1987)
Too far-fetched
I gave this movie a five. It's interesting, but very far-fetched. I know crazy things happen in this world, crazier than in this movie, but I like more realistic films. The acting was horrible. Children between the ages of 10 and 17 might enjoy this due to their natural nature. But adults might think it's a waste of time. We have Andrea Yeager who killed her five kids, Susan Smith who drown her sons, the lady in New York who dropped her kids off a roof one by one, Michael Jackson dangling his adopted child from a balcony, and a lot more crazier things that have happened so this should seem a little bit easier to digest. Maybe if they had more convincing actors, it would not have seemed so far-fetched.
