Wow. This movie works in so many layers all at once that is takes a moment to really sink in.
It also took me the first few minutes to really dive into it, but OH once I did.. It's a movie about a father-daughter relationship or, more accurately, a moment in time in its course. A memory you can only access through a picture. The best (and in a way the last) summer of your childhood.
In many ways, their individual stories are mirrored. And, to that end, the use of reflection and blue are beautiful (that scene with the Polaroid just sent me.. is the entire movie in a nutshell!) Everything is very poetic and so well executed. Easily one of my favourite movies.
