Criminal Minds: And in the End (2020)
Disappointing and unfinished
While watching this episode I always waited for something special to happen, but that part never came. This is the last episode and I thought after the last 5-6 mediocre seasons they would make this episode finally something to give fans that old feeling of the shows prime when you could barely stumble onto a bad episode. If this was a season finale and not the series finale I would give it a 5/10, but after all these years the show ends by Garcia leaving the BAU? Honestly if they killed Lynch and ended the show with the BAU getting a new case and going with the old "the regular work continues" thing it would be a better ending.
First big disappointment was Reid's visions. Why the hell would he remember Foyet? If any villan was mentioned in Reid's flashbacks it should have been Cat or at least that guy that gave him dilaudid. But OK they went with Foyet. What was the purpose of him appearing?? He did not bring anything to the story aswell as Strauss. Maeve was at least connected to the character personally and did that whole "you can stay dead or go live" thing we've all seen a million times. And somehow he stands there, his brain bleeding and all that, for hours before they find him and get help. And out of the blue 5 mins later in the episode he wakes up?? One other big question I have is WHERE THE HELL IS MAX? Why didn't Reid tell Maeve about Max and why didn't Max appear at the party?? Everyone else had their spouses and dates except Reid. I mean Andrew whatshisname is there with Prentiss, a character nobody actually cares about and Max isn't? Even if she wasn't at the party, why wasn't she at the hospital?? They ended Reid's storyline with him announcing becoming a teacher? The most beloved character in the show and you end his story with such a shallow ending?? This is the most disappointing part of the finale by far.
The second big dissapointment is the last encounter with Lynch. Of course he gets Rossi's wife, that was expected and I don't have anything against that. But why didn't they make it more suspensful. Rossi was "OH YEAH BRO IS OK I KNOW WHAT HE WANTS" and that was it. Then they transition into the plane scene. I mean really, after all the things the guy has done to evade the BAU, he willingly meets with them and asks them for a plane which they give him? Are you kidding me? "I've got no shot!" The most cringy line in the whole finale. They could've shot him at least 15 times before he got onto the plane. And then he shows a kind heart and takes Rossi instead of Krystal. Like a trained FBI agent is no threat to him. I would understand if he was delusional or something but he is shown as smart and capable. He never took a risk like that before. And please don't tell me after all the mastermind plans he had he didn't feel Rossi's vest underneath his clothes. And then they just blow up the plane and kill him. It felt like one of those passing episodes just to fill up the network contract until they can do something special with the season finale.
Third thing that bothered me was David Rossi staying with the BAU instead of retiring and Garcia leaving. I mean seriously why didn't they end Rossi's story with retirement. He is 1000 years old, almost got killed in the 14th season finale and almost lost his wife to this last guy. If the show carried on I would understand that, but him keeping on with the job makes no sense. And Garcia leaving... Seriously? The most emotional character that always talks love and togetherness leaves. And they didn't even bother to pay Sheamar Moore for one last appearance? And that was supposed to be the big bang for the finale? Really?
I never thought I could be disappointed and angry at at show but somehow the writers of Criminal Minds helped me to experience that in my lifetime.
Criminal Minds: Collision Course (2017)
Totally impossible
I do not know about the other cars, but the collision where he hacked a w202 C class Mercedes is impossible!!! This alone makes the episode bad and unbelievable. Not only is the W202 steering hydraulic the brakes are aswell (and without SBC) and the car has no wireless antennas or tech except for a radio antenna!!! I'm not much of a hacker but I believe the radio antenna does not give you the access to the Engine Control Unit. If there wasn't for the Reid angle I would just turn the episode off and get on with the next one. If I wanted to see Sci-Fi I would watch Star Trek. This is just not acceptable.
