Nate and Margaret (2012)
A movie about a friendship and dreams
This movie is worth 7 as a movie, and I'm giving it an extra 1 just for Tyler Ross.
I don't know how other people perceive this movie, but to me it's a movie about a real friendship, a friendship just like a real love doesn't know age, race etc limits.
And also this movie is about not giving up and pursuing your dreams at any age.
As I said I was giving an extra 1 point just for Tyler Ross, he is a good actor and played very well in this movie.
That's it, there is not much to say about this film, dialogues are good except for 1 or 2, and this movie could have been a lot better with the right music choice.
Everything Must Go (2010)
It is a very nice and slow movie
It is a very nice movie. When you say that something is nice and you really mean it, that's the kind of movie it is.
It's a little sad too, but it leaves you with a nice feeling. I'm using the word nice a lot of times because it is a nice movie.
I gave it 7/10 because it is a slow moving movie, if it had a little bit bit more excitement and/or humour, I would give it 8/10.
Watch it when you have nothing else to do or if you want to see Will Ferrel as you have never seen him before.
Again, it's a nice, nice movie.
PS. I was a little disappointed because I watched on my birthday and I thought I was going to watch a comedy. So a warning for you - it's not a comedy.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
A Truly Extraordinary Masterpiece
I just got this video on DVD I preordered a while ago. I'm usually a quiet person, but I couldn't hold my excitement and yelled a sound of excitement when I opened the package.
That should be enough to make you watch this movie. I would never think that a sequel could be so much better than the first movie. Don't get me wrong, I loved The First Avenger, but I couldn't imagine the Winter Soldier would be so awesome.
Everything is perfect in this movie - the plot, acting, special effects, music.
If you are a sci-fi fan, this movie is a joy to your ears, eyes and the body in general
Red Hill (2010)
My First Australian Thriller
I haven't seen many Australian movies, but I liked all those that I've seen so far.
First of all, I like the accent. Second, we have indigenous people in Canada too, and that's why I feel a connection with this movie.
The acting in this movie was good in overall, believable and solid. You can feel that it's not a typical Hollywood film by the way it develops, music and camera-work. I don't know, I maybe wrong, but it felt different in this respect.
I'm a person of logic, so half way through I was saying to myself - Oh this or that thing doesn't make sense, but as the story evolved the movie grew on me and by the end I started loving it.
Godzilla (2014)
A one time watch movie, wouldn't buy a DVD
I love movies with good CGI and sci fi in general, so I was really looking forward to seeing Godzilla. I was somewhat disappointed for three reasons:
1. Although the quality of visual effects was very high the monsters didn't look real, they were all black and some looked metallic. The movie would be more watchable if the monsters had more colours and texture.
2. It is a good cast with good actors, but I blame the director for not pushing them to display emotions. Except Cranston all other main characters had the same plain facial expression even when they saw a monster for the first time. No change in facial expression to show astonishment and fear. Aaron and Elizabeth always had the same expression no matter what was happening to or around them, they looked like they were trying to read a restaurant menu.
3. Overall it didn't feel like one-flow movie and lacked suspense. It felt like a patchwork.
Im giving it 7/7 because of good quality special effects and that I watched in d-box, which made the experience more entertaining and less boring.
