It means everything and nothing

Dogtooth is bizarre, yet you can't look away. The performances by the actors are incredible and scarily believable. There are many provocative scenes but they don't seem exploitative but rather just there for objective observation. The cinematography and sound are also very good. I couldn't tell if I should laugh or cringe so it was often both, and there are definitely lessons to learn but i feel that it will be different for each watcher. This movie is uncomfortable, but if you can watch any Quentin Tarantino movie and come out relatively unscathed then you can do it with this one.

Beautiful but forgettable

This movie is beautiful. The shots are very well placed. The lighting and colour palettes were extremely appealing. The dialogue was quirky but fun to listen to. The acting is good, direction is good. However, most films with this topic base leave you either incredibly thoughtful, happy or sad. Maybe if you are experiencing similar things as the characters then you'll get more from this film. However, it mostly left me feeling incredibly empty and I'll possibly forget about it.

Bromance and Dreamchasing

A great, feel good movie. Lovable characters who you root for the entire film. Deserves to be watched repeatedly to get all the good bits. Deserves more acclaim.

Surpising in its originality and entertainment
18 September 2018
I will admit. I watched the first 3 epsiodes with a friend and didn't come back and finish it till at least 6 months later. The premise was a bit too raunchy for me to watch with another person I think, but I am so glad I did finish it. In this very saturated movie and tv industry, it gets more and more difficult to find tv shows and/or movies that actually surpise you, and not in a "all the main characters die", but in a way where the show remains happy and realistic.

The acting was so good. At least a 3rd of the time, I wondered if it wasn't scripted. The documentary style was really refreshing. The show wasn't necessarily 'laugh out loud' funny, but it had its moments. Mostly it was just entertaining, and the second season is even better.

The themes covered in both seasons, were well covered without too much seriousness or political correctness. I just had a lot of fun watching it and really felt for all the characters. That's rare these days. Definitely recommend for anyone who can stomach the rather disturbing premises.
